| Reader Profile (effective July 2000) Active outdoors people with above average education, income and travel habits. There are 3839 registered orienteers in 51 clubs in all states including Northern Territory. In 1999 there were 775 orienteering events with 62,580 participants. Events cater for age grades ranging from Boys and Girls under 10 up to Men/Women over 80. Australia is the leading orienteering country outside Europe with an outstadning international record. The International Orienteering Federation has 58 member countries. Orienteering is an Olympic recognised sport, it is on the program for the World Games in Akita, Japan, 2001. | The Australian Orienteer is the national magazine of the Orienteering Federation of Australia. It is included in members' subscriptions and delivered direct to their homes in all states. |
