(TOSN Crossover) Prior to 2250, the Yorktown was under the command of Captain Christopher Pike. Number One served as his first officer. (TOSN Vulcan's Glory) Prior to 2263, the Yorktown was under the command of Commodore Matthew Decker. Commander Anne Gauvreau was the Yorktown's first officer. After Commodore Decker was assigned to the USS Constellation, Captain Von Holtzbrinck took command. (TOSN Prime Directive) In 2263, Yeoman Lawford served on the Yorktown, until her transfer to the Constellation. (VAN Harbinger) Prior to 2267, Pavel Chekov took the Kobayashi Maru Test in a simulation of the Yorktown at Starfleet Academy. (TOSN The Disinherited) In 2268, the Yorktown was transporting vaccines for a plague on Theta VII. The Yorktown was to rendezvous with the USS Enterprise to transfer the supplies, but the Enterprise was combating the Dikironium Cloud Creature. (TOS TVN: The Enchanted Pool) The Yorktown assisted the Enterprise and the USS Exeter in keeping the experimental transwarp drive from falling into enemy hands. The whale probe disabled the Yorktown and the chief engineer was trying to make a solar sail to help move the vessel. The Enterprise's bridge module was used because the Yorktown's old bridge module was too heavily damaged. In 2370, the Yorktown was placed as a muesuem at Starbase 178. The Yorktown Mueseum, also, had the old Romulan Cloaking Device that Captain James Kirk and Commander Spock stole in the 2260s. Captain Montgomery Scott stole the Yorktown using the cloaking device. Capt. Scott used the Yorktown in an attempt to rescue Ambassador Spock, who was in Romulan hands, into Romulan space, but he and the Yorktown was captured and sent to Romulan Outpost 43. Commander William Riker, Lieutenant Commander Data, and Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge of the USS Enterprise was sent to rescue Capt Scott and the Yorktown. The Yorktown was heavily damaged in battle against the Romulans, but rescued Ambassador Spock. The Enterprise came and towed the Yorktown back to Starbase 178.
