Let it All Remain This Way
The sun
still shines and tides rise and ebb
And the
moon be still as bright
And the
hands of time still intercept
Shadows
still lurk in the dark of night
Yet the
sculptor has laid down his tools
Cleared the
table, packed up the clay
The film
still reels from giant spools
Scenes that
play on day by day
The lights
must dim and the heart does pause
And
whispering winds must fade
And
sentences draw to an end, because
All must unmake all that once was made
Let not
tomorrow change the future
Let me live
in the glory of today
Let death be a word unspoken
Let it all
remain this way.
