Opening statement by DarkGhost:

If you were design your very own character, wether it being for a book, movie or computer game, what characteristics would you give him/her?

Just design your own character: You can draw or write him if you want, or do the two.

I'll humour you, Ghost, and create an unlikely character of my own . Okayyyy ... a game character then. I like adventure games. Er, this would be for a relatively non-violent one.

Gav is a gangling, short-sighted, colour-impaired teen who's a wannabe private eye and goes around wearing his dad's battered fedora and oversized green trenchcoat, and goes round following suspicious characters around town. One day, while following a mysterious man with a head of broccoli down a deserted alley, he sneezes - and in an utterly improbable twist of fate, opens up a rift to another world where the people are green and talk in colour instead of words. Most fortunately?unfortunately for Gav, an ancient sibyl in that world had prophecised that the day would come when a colourless, gangling, bespectacled male crowned with a shapeless grey hat and oversized green garment would come and save their world from utter destruction, and the people have been waiting anxiously for this very moment. (It does not help Gav that he'd picked the exact time to mysteriously appear on the altar of their holy temple of Ash'uku at midday, when devout followers gather in greatest numbers, on the birthday of the prophet) Gav is confused and overwhelmed by all this, until one priestess takes him by the arm and shows him a mural on the temple wall, which pretty much explains things in pictorial form. (How convenient)

Having been mistaken for saviour, Gav must now act the part as best he can lest the market folk play Happy Stew games with his gonads and harvest his brain. His first task will be to uncover the threat that may destroy the world (which he will eventually discover - the hard way - to be sound of above 30db, which turns people into pink statues), and, having learnt the truth, must unmask the holy terrors - aliens who have invaded the planet and are passing themselves off as cabbages - who are bent on wreaking this havoc, and stop them before they ruin this world.

Unfortunately, Gav, being colour-blind, is unable to make out the speech of the green people by himself. Therefore his first real task will be to find help. There is a Disney-cute dog-like creature with seven legs who is not only intelligent but can communicate in human words who *may* exchange help for tasty treats of Booger spiders, which Gav can only find under tables and behind closets in green people houses (the trick is how to sneak into them, and how not to get eaten alive by the spiders). There is also the purple frenchbean, which is sold in apothecaries and can lend him abilities to see in technicolour (although the colours are all inverted) for half an hour, but carry the risk of causing Gav to sneeze - which would cause him to mysteriously appear at the altar at the beginning of the game again, thus erasing all his efforts and progress.

Aside from interviewing the green inhabitants of this world (how he's going to communicate with them without sound will be up to him to find out. Clue: it involves vegetables which, when ingested and metabolised, produce coloured gas. But he must work out sentence structures first), Gav must also break into the houses of suspicious characters to uncover evidence. This is only possible at midnight when everybody is asleep, so Gav must creep around in the dark with only a captured firefly for light. And above all, he must never make noises of over 30db (there will be a hitman-ish gauge in the top left corner alerting him if he's verging on making noise), and he must take extremely careful measures to avoid the local police, who have been alerted to his earlier activities of illegally transforming people into statues, and who will turn him into a turnip for the rest of his life if they catch him.
