Zell couldn't stand this mess anymore. He hadn't even agreed on Lina's coming here in the first place, he felt uneasy in the beginning about Seifer going, and here looking at the result, he was more depressed than ever. Without thinking, he slapped the blade from her hands, getting a cut on his hand in the process, and before Lina could dive for it again, he kicked it aside. As the smarting pain in his hand abated, he grabbed Lina and kissed her.
This dark Lina tried to resist, tried to push herself free, but Zell kept her right in her place--even of this bullshit. Her dark eyes looked up past him to the sky. She blinked for a moment, closing her eyes tightly together, and when she opened her eyes again, she cries one dark misty tear from her eye. Slowly, her eyes returned to their natural coffee brown, and her pale complexion became rosy with blush. She closed her eyes and let herself melt into Zell's warmth.
When Seifer saw the scene, the two reunited in a loving kiss, he yelled, "NO!!!" Zell smiled and pulled away to look at her--yep, that was his Lina alright. Lina sighed with great relief, but turned to look at the scene--sure she was cured, but the other two were still fighting against Irvine and Squall.
"Stop!" she cried out. "Please don't, you guys!" They turned their attention immediately to her and raised their swords to a stance. Lina saw their black eyes and felt her entire body grow cold. Meanwhile, Seifer, angry with Zell for breaking the spell, attacked him with his gunblade. Lina kneeled down on the ground, feeling faint and miserable. The two days had caught up with her in their black eyes. Two days of thirst, exhaustion, and spirit were completely lost to her.
Amber and Jen charged in Lina's direction, and all Zell could do for the time being was call it to her attention. Their swords were raised to attack. If Lina didn't do something quick, she could cross the line. With a painful effort, she lifted her hand up and screamed, "Stop!" Amber and Jen did, and Lina was blatantly astonished, but it wasn't her voice that had changed anything. She realized that their dark eyes were focused upon the bracelet around her wrist. Lina too focused her vision on the friendship bracelet, loosely pendent from her hand. The shimmering glow coming off of it shined ever so brightly.
Suddenly, the last of the weapons dropped to the ground and their eyes returned to their normal color. Lina stood up wearily and embraced the two in a sloppy hug.
"LINA!" Lina heard and spun around in front of her friends; she'd protect them at all costs. "YOU RUINED EVERYTHING, BITCH." He left Zell aside and began to charge in her direction. Amber and Jen fell behind as far as they could to avoid to damage that would soon be done. Curious as they were, they only rushed back ten yards or so, hoping to get a good view of everything.
Lina held her hands out and released her suppressed anger into her system; her outline began to glow suddenly and in front of her palms formed a sphere of sheer energy, glowing a bright white. As Seifer approached, he drew his gunblade with him to gain the advantage and to ready himself for a strike, but Lina saw it coming. She shot the energy ball out in front at him and it hit him square in the chest, tossing him away into the sky. "DAMN YOU, LINA!"
Lina regained her composure and turned around to smile at her friends--a smile that told them the terror had subsided and they were safe now. Once she'd gotten across her point, she felt the energy leave her and she realized she was toppling over. Zell rushed over and caught her before she hit the ground. Right before Lina's eyes slid into an unconscious black, she saw Zell smiling.
