Chapter Sixteen

Lina woke up to herself reclined on the bed in her hotel room. The first thing she saw was Zell's worried, but still handsome, face hovering above her. She smiled and he sighed with relief. With an effort, she propped herself up against the backboard.

"Did I have you worried?" she joked, and Zell chuckled sarcastically. He looked at the empty space to her right side and ceased the opportunity, inviting himself to join her. The two were absolutely inseparable, no matter what distances between them. "I was really scared, Zell. It was like I couldn't control the least bit what I was doing. I'm so sorry for all the trouble. I didn't want to hurt you."

"I know you wouldn't," Zell chortled. "Now, who'd want to hurt this handsome face?" he joked patting his cheek with a playful little smile on his face. Lina giggle and nudged him a little bit. His recoil was subtle, but enough for excuse to lean in closer towards Lina. "I'm only joking."

"I know," Lina said a second later for she'd been yawning from exhaustion.

"Hm?" Zell asked. "You know what?" Lina laughed heartily--and that felt good.

"I know that I love you," she replied. He smiled and kissed her. Lina searched for his hand and gripped it rightly with hers. "Let's get back to Garden. I'm homesick." Zell nodded and kissed her again.
