Chapter Four

"Just a simple potion!" Seifer yelled, pounding his fist onto the table and catching the attention of many students wandering shelves nearby. He was extremely annoyed with Sadie and he could quite frankly care less who heard him. Sadie glared at him and shook her head in order to sway Seifer's position on things. She wanted revenge--cold hard revenge. Looking at the situation, it was Lina's fault Zell didn't like her--an absolute lie--the one by which she lived; how pathetic. She wanted to get right of Lina right then and there if she could.

"You don't get it," she muttered sharply after the students had turned away. "They ruined our lives! Don't you want to do away with that Squall?" Seifer shook his head and shrugged--did they really have to bring more people into the picture? There were supposed to be just two now: Rinoa and Zell, right? Why would they have to involve more people as long as they had what they wanted? Sadie was just making things more complicated with her selfish disposition. Sadie slapped the palm of her hand pathetically against the table a few times as if feeble attempts to break it. It seemed somehow that Seifer was beyond her at this point.

"No death," Seifer said firmly. "I've been sentenced one year of 'community fishing' for just one kidnapping before! I was even under the influence of a sorceress--what do you think they'll do if we kill someone!?" Sadie sighed and shrugged it off--he'd won, but she still wouldn't admit she'd been too stubborn to begin with. The students in the rows near them had left, leaving them in peace to discuss their plan for the upcoming feat they'd be attempting to pull.

"Fine then..." she finally agreed. "Potion it is. A love potion. How impossibly cliche. So...how are we going to get them to drink it?" She moved onto the next dilemma. She'd personally thought up a few ideas already--force feeding, ambushes, it barely mattered anymore as long as they drank it, but upon seeing Seifer's discontent frown--that frown that meant he might be flaking on her--she decided to pick something a little more logical. "Wait...Aren't they going to eat dinner on Friday or something?" Seifer shrugged. A moment of silence. "Yes they are!" Sadie had just answered her own question. How she knew the answer--or the question for that matter--no one knew. "We can dress up as waiters and slip it in their drink when we serve it to them!" Seifer gave her a rather dubious glare, but she stared right back, wondering what type of insult could be dashing through his mind that very instant.

"That's a good idea. You get smarter everyday, you know" Seifer scoffed at her.

"Humph! Well whatever because we're going with it whether you want it or not!" she replied. "Well we only have a couple days to prepare the brew, so we better find some ingredients right away. How are we going to double it? One for Zell, one for Rinoa, right?" Seifer nodded, no change of expression on his face.

"Can't we just cast double on it? I don't feel like working on the entire thing. I'm sure it'll have a significant effect. Overall, it should work fine," Seifer suggested. Sadie nodded, smirking.

"It should work," she laughed--things were falling into place for them already despite their disputes. She walked across the library and scaled a few racks in a row not commonly looked upon. Finally, she found what she was looking for: a dusty old book labeled Potions for the Needy. Seifer stared at the cover with an incredulous look on his face. "I know it's a stupid title, but it's got the best information I know of so it'll very well just have to do...We'll need a lot of ingredients though. Let's get to work!" Nothing could bring her down at that very moment; she was finally going to get the revenged she wanted. How sweet it would be to taste Lina's bitter defeat.

They left the library immediately in search of the required ingredients for their little concoction, smuggling along with them the ancient old book. Soon, Sadie and Seifer would have everything they needed to pull this one over.
