Chapter Nine

"Nice moves," he shrugged and walked closer to her to get a better look. Lina planted her feet firmly into the ground as Seifer edged closer to her, an examining look in his eyes that matched those bleached blond tips of hair on his head. Seifer moved so close to her, she could almost feel his moist, humid breath on the back of her neck; he was breathing down her back and she found it most annoying, but still she kept her ground and stood without flinching when he brushed by her shoulder purposely around to the back.

"Thanks," she said warily, but she was thinking, Oh crap, he's checking out my ass. His eyes lightened up a little bit when she said this and he found her rolling her loosely and sighing an annoyed sigh. Seifer waved his hand around a little bit and stayed towards her backside a little longer than he probably should have, purposely trying to vex her at this point. At one point of silence, Lina actually thought about turning around to face him in great irritation, but Seifer slithered his way to face her, smirking proudly.

"A little immature, but they're not bad," he said coolly, continuing with his own little conversation about her tactics in fighting. Seifer's more bad-assed here, Lina thought to herself after a moment of him still looking her over, as if identifying who she really was just by staring contently at her. "Thanks, but I've always been this bad-assed," he said. Damn it, that's right, he's still got those powers, she thought. Since I'm gone, he's probably got more than ever. She looked around for something that would give her an excuse to escape from the odd conversation, if that's what you'd call it. "What's your name?"

"Liz." Seifer stared at her cautiously, reading her mind and immediately regretted saying that. Seifer seemed shocked and suddenly extremely interesting in this girl. He moved in closer and Lina began to back away, putting foot after foot backwards in a fashion that would bring her closer to the exit. She knew Seifer was reading her thoughts about who she was. Lina Heartilly. Age 18. In love with Zell Dincht...a different Zell Dincht. SeeD rank 28 of Balamb Garden. Gets a high pay every week. Is a sorceress.

"That's not your real name," he seemed to be threatening her now. But, the list just kept on going. Likes to take strolls in the Quad. Used to live in the Reality World. Is an extremely kind person with high ingenuity skills. Well liked throughout Balamb Garden. Seifer walked closer and Lina walked further away. Best moment of her life was when Zell told her he loved her more than anything. She hopes it is still true.

"I-I gotta go, bye," Lina waved quickly and rushed out of the training center, almost knocking Nida over, who was just entering.
