Chapter Two

Rinoa, Lina, Squall, and Seifer stood at the bridge looking out at a weird figure in the sky. It looked like someone was on top of a giant bat or something. The creature's wings beat furiously and the trees and invisible dust around it arose into the sky, disturbing the usually peaceful patterns of the forests near Garden. "Who is that?" Lina asked. Squall shook his head and shrugged. Lina could sense his distress and unhappiness; she could immediately tell that he was thinking of every possibility of who could be riding such a fierce monster.

"I don't know, but if its trouble, I trust you guys will fight it," Squall said. They nodded knowingly even though they hated the fact that they were being used just for this purpose due to their abnormalties. It wasn't their fault they were different from the others and unique in their own special way...it was just the way they were and of course they were offended by this unctuous habit of this, but he did have a point in calling upon them. The umbraging figure in the sky grew larger and larger until it was almost the same size as Garden itself. "Prepare for a crash."

Two minutes later there was a huge explosion and the ground shifted. Whatever that thing was had just crashed into the side of Garden and broken down the walls. Startled, they ran down from the bridge and hastily took the elevator down to the first floor where there was now an extremely large hole in the wall, revealing the light blue sky with its lazy clouds rolling past and the dust flying in every direction from the collision, making it almost impossible to tell what it was that had crashed into them. They stared through the dust carefully, waiting for someone to appear. They could see now that the giant bat was actually a Ruby Dragon, flapping its wings impatiently and violently. They stared at it cautiously, wondering if they should attack.

"Should we fight that thing?" Rinoa asked Squall. Squall shook his head and stared carefully into the swirls and mists of dust flying around. Rinoa turned back to the mess and stared into it carefully, cringing at the damage made. The others seemed suspicious of the mess, but soon got instruction from Squall to stand still. Some students in the library had peeked their heads out from their shelter to catch a glimpse of what was going on.

"No, wait," Squall directed. "There's someone emerging from the scene." Squall could make out the figure of a well-figured girl walking, no...limping through the dust towards them. It was definitely a girl; she had sleek brown hair hanging loosely over heir drooping, weary shoulders, and brilliant jade green eyes. As she looked up from the ground towards Squall and the others she sighed tiredly.

"Sorry about that rough landing," she said as she brushed herself off and approached them. Lina knew she had seen those eyes somewhere; she was so familiar. Suddenly, she knew.

"Kira!" Lina was surprised to find Squall yelling with her.
