That afternoon, they went out of Garden and walked along the beach behind the forests near Balamb. Seifer, Lina, Zell, Dan, Karen, Chichiri, Tasuki, Nuriko, and Kira were all there, enjoying the view and just having a fun time chatting and playing childish jokes on each other. They settled down for a moment and discussed something a little more serious than the information they were going at. "You guys have any requests for tonight?" Seifer asked them.
"Last Resort," Tasuki said, pretending to play air guitar with his hands and yelling out some of the lyrics, "THIS IS MY LAST RESORT! SUFFOCATION... NO BREATHING." Seifer nodded, trying to make him shut up because his voice was only loud and annoying...not the least bit good sounding at all. He looked around and everyone was glaring at him evilly, attempting to cover up their ears from the noisehe was making. "By Papa Roach?"
"Yeah," Seifer smirked. "I'll be doing that one." Everyone knew that Last Resort was a hard rock song about suicide. Everyone also knew that Seifer enjoyed boosting his bad boy reputation by singing these kinds of songs. The others had agreed to let him sing the entire song by himself mentally, seeing if his tender voice would last that long through one song screaming, "I-CAN'T-GO-ON-LIV-ING-THIS-WAY."
"Oh!!" Nuriko yelled suddenly, flipping her--sorry I mean his-- hair over his shoulder. "How about Invisible Man?" Tasuki stared at him in utter disbelief, telling him that he was "SO GIRLIE!". Nuriko punched him in the face. "What's your point?" he muttered stiffly, his lower lip curving upward in a frown on annoyance and pride. Tasuki scratched the back of his head and mumbled.
"I just can't figure girls out," he sighed and made a gesticulation with his hands, lifting his shoulders, as if questioning the reason why Nuriko acted like a woman even though he already knew. Nuriko pounded him again, hard, and Tasuki fell back with a huge red mark in the middle his face.
"Just because I'm gay doesn't mean you should change my gender when you talk about me!!" Nuriko argued, crossing his arms indignantly and trying to ignore Tasuki's whimpering. The others were trying to hold in their laughter. There was absolutely nothing wrong with Nuriko being the crossdresser he was. Tasuki should remember to watch his mouth!
"YOU SEEM LIKE A GIRL TO ME!" Wrong move, he was now fully one with the ocean and the sand, still trying to pull his head out of the wet sand and water. "YOU KNOW I CAN'T SWIM!" He cried between sandy mouthfuls of saltwater and attempted gasps for air as high tide quickly rode in.
Karen ran up to Dan and Lina and yelled loudly, "We should do HAMMERTIME!!" They laughed. "What!!! We could! Can't touch this!" It was another Trio performance. Dan and Lina sang the music in the background and Karen sang the main lyrics. All three of them dance together in sync. "My-my-my music hits me, so hard," Karen rapped. "It's makes me say 'Oh my Lord' thank you for blessing me with a mind to rhyme and two hyped feet."
Everyone was watching them, amused. The Trio always had a random group thing going on...The Trio exchanged cheerful looks and continued with their small performance. The thing about their performances were... they all seemed very well rehearsed, when in fact, they were all impromptu. They had this uncanny ability to predict what the other person would do and do something similar to make it seem smooth. Dan, although a guy, was a very good dancer; his actions were smooth and sly and he almost never looked like a fool when it came to music. Karen had their own thing going on; she could do the stupidest things and make them seem cool where as when other people tried them, they'd look stupid. It was just something about Karen's nature that made her seem this way. Lina, on the other hand, had learned from the best of the best when it came to dancing. Irvine Kinneas taught Lina, and everyone knew how Irvine was when it came to dancing.
"That's good when you know you're down
A superbowl homeboy from Oaktown
And I'm known as such
And this is a beat uh you can't touch," Karen was having a good time. "Fresh new kicks and pants
You got it like that now you know you wanna dance
So move out of your seat
And get a fly girl and catch this beat
While it's rollin' hold on pump a little bit
"
They suddenly stopped, unable to control their laughing. The others clapped for them. Karen was the only one continuing to dance. The rest of the Trio stared at her and laughed again. But then, Lina's attention was turned over to something else. "Kira, you alright?" Lina noticed that she looked a little distressed.
"Yeah, what am I supposed to wear?" she asked. Lina lightened up. Kira was concerned about something that would not prove as much of a problem. Lina had already figured out that usually Kira's distressed expression would prove to be something important and extremely disturbing, but she was happy that this time it would only the little matter clothing for a normal dance.
"Anything," Lina shrugged. "It's just like a dance. No one really pays attention to what you're wearing...Unless you're trying to impress someone." Lina turned her head to the left and saw a small sphere in the corner of eye. It was purpled with blue swirled all over it.
