Lina Heartilly was an eighteen year old girl with black hair pulled back into a neat ponytail and two strands of twisted hair at the side. She had coffee brown eyes and was an instructor at Balamb Garden. She was now in class, having a heated argument with her students about the importance of balance in power, but the intercom interrupted them with a loud and disturbing beeep.
"Students and SeeDs of Balamb Garden," it sounded like Commander Squall Leonhart's voice, a nineteen year old boy with silky brown hair and dashing brown eyes. "There is an unknown...thing...heading straight for us. Please do not panic, but prepare for a collision." Murmurs and scattered talking fluttered about the room. The intercom beeped once more.
"And will Rinoa and Lina Heartilly please report to the bridge at once," it said. "Ahh, better bring Seifer with you too." Rinoa was Lina's sister; she was also Squall's current girlfriend. Seifer was a misunderstood boy with emerald eyes and blond hair. Lina stared at Seifer curiously, he seemed kind of embarassed himself because Squall's annnouncement had attracted a lot of eyes to land on him.
"You told him?" she asked him curiously. Lina, Rinoa, and Seifer all had uncanny powers. Lina was an extremely strong sorceress; everyone knew. Rinoa was a sorceress as well, she was famous, but not everyone in Garden knew exactly how she got her powers. Seifer was a Receiver of Powers like Lina, but only a select few knew of it. The few that he decided to tell weren't allowed to tell anyone unless he gave him or her permission.
"No, he found out," Seifer responded, getting out of his seat. "Damn he's clever." Lina slipped a white jacket that dragged down to the floor over her pink tank top and peach skort and pulled her gloves on. Seifer pulled out his gunblade, polished and taken care of to its highest perfection. They headed for the hallway. Lina stopped at the door and stared at the class, trying to think of something for them to do while they were gone. She glanced at the clock and sighed.
"Have fun," she said simply and as she left to the bridge she heard cheers from the class.
