Chapter Fourteen

"Lina!" Seifer was clapping his hands in front of her face. He had been doing so for the past three minutes. Yelling hadn't gotten her attention, the clapping seemed to be working subtly, but no matter how hard she tried, it seemed that the sword had grasped onto her attention and wasnt't planning on letting go of it anytime soon. "Snap out of it! LINA!"

"Huh?" she looked around, her eyes returned to normal and she looked thuroughly frightened. She hadn't felt that scary feeling in so long. It sent shivers up her spine and shots through her heart. The familiar feeling of having her lungs being squeezed to the rhythym that the blade was whispering its seducing words to her had shattered her concentration once again and she felt that she would loose everything.

"It's your decision," Seifer explained. "I didn't want anyone else to come in here because they might decide for you." Lina eyed the saber cautiously from the very tip of its slender, needle sharp point through the area where its blade grew thicker to ensure a stronger and more forceful blow to the enemy, to the very edge of its black leather bound hilt. "This sword was powered and charged with the essence of pure fighting skills." Seifer smirked slightly, touching the tip of it gently and then suddenly bleeding fiercely, with a large cut on his finger, leaking blood violently. "It is your choice whether or not to use it."

He wiped the blood off with a small cloth he pulled out of his pocket. Lina closed her eyes and thought for a moment. The sacrifice was great, and the reward? Rescuing a friend she had really only met once before? No reward, except the fact Kira was safe.

"I'll do it."
