Chapter Fifteen

Lina walked out of Seifer's dorm holding something long wrapped in a cloth. "Give me a second," Lina paused. "I have to get out of these rags Rikku claims are clothes." She ran to her dorm and came out five minutes later in a more comfortable outfit: Her usual white cape similar to Rinoa's with a tank top and pink skort underneath. These clothes were all designed especially for her to kick ass in. "Lead the way, Squall," she said. Squall lead them to the exact spot Kira had been taken to.

"Put these on," Squall said tossing everyone a black cloth with a hood on it. They held the cloth in their hands, looking at him skeptically. "We gotta look like we're one of them."

They entered the hell hole and walked around near the dungeons. Dan hid behind the guard and lightly picked the keys out of his belt. Chichiri cast a spell and the guard suddenly fell into a deep, deep sleep. During all of this, Lina avoided eye contact and speaking with Zell. She knew he would ask her what was the ridiculously long item wrapped in the gray cloth under her disguise. She wouldn't know how to respond and if she lied about it, Zell would figure it out and demand the truth. She then wouldn't know how to react, so in her mind, she decided to avoid the entire situation.

They peeked through all of the dungeon doors until they found Kira lying in one of the cellar rooms. Squall peered through the small hole in the door with his curious eyes in the gaps between the bars. There was Kira, lying face down on the dirt covered floor, not moving, but still breathing...Squall could tell by the gently up and down pattern of her chest. They tried all the keys and after about ten minutes or so they finally found the right one and pulled Kira out of there.

She wasn't unconscious but she was tired. There were red marks all over her body; obviously she had been whipped. Her eyes held a solemn expression as she muttered, "You shouldn't have come." And, as Squall and the others thought they were being heroic, they suddenly thought differently, as if they had just walked into a trap. But, since they were here and had gone through so much trouble to get here, they attempted to rescue her.

Squall gently picked her up and carried her in his arms, trying not to pay attention to Rinoa's hurt gaze which she was obviously trying very hardly to hide. Squall carried her out towards the exit, but a man with a black cape stood in his way, stopping all of them dead in their tracks.
