In the morning Lina went to class. Kira was there too. She wasn't a new student or anything, she was just there for the sake of being there and experiencing what it was like to be in a Balamb Garden classroom, besides, Squall was busy with other work and Lina understood that one of the only reasons Kira had come was to see Squall. She sat on the windowsill at the very back of the classroom, trying to attract as ittle attention as she possibly could. Lina smiled at her and gave her a short nod as a hello, helping a lot in her attempt to not be noticed.
"Students of Garden," the intercom spoke right when Lina got inside. "I am announcing a ball tonight." The students looked around confused. Lina was furious; she usually performed with Dan, Karen, Scott, and Seifer at those balls. She was on the verge of screaming at Squall and she knew he would be able to hear it too. Dan got up and ran to the doorway and screamed for her at Squall so that everyone in the entire Garden could hear it.
"Gee, thanks for the LONG TERM NOTICE!!!!!" he yelled sarcastically and immediately the halls were of quiet chatter were silent. All of Garden was listening to see what Commander Squall Leonhart would say in return to this. Dan was just as mad as Lina and he had no problem in showing it. Lina smiled mischeviously at her friend, and he smiled back, but the signs of his face were mainly showing his anger towards the Commander.
"You're welcome," the intercom said. There was more silence in the hallways, then slight whispering. The eerie part about this was that even the tweeting birds outside had stopped their light singing as if they too were listening in on this conversation. Lina joined Dan in her anger.
"It's just because she is here!" she screamed at him. "She" was Kira; Squall knew Kira from a long time ago and also realized that they had a lot to catch up on. That's the main reason why he was suddenly scheduling this immediate ball at night.
"What's you point, Lina?" Squall asked over the intercom. "Did I know that she was going to be arriving yesterday?" Squall answered his own question. "No, I didn't now did I? In that case, I have a perfectly good reason to make it tonight." There was a pause, then Karen joined in on their public argument. It was outnumbered, Lina, Dan, Karen, Seifer, and Scott against Squall, but Squall still had authoritive power over them. For some reason about their own group, their more childish side were brought out.
"You're evil, Squall! Evil! You could at least have told us in advance or something!! Why don't you just frikken change it to tomorrow you... MEANIE!" Karen screamed and almost fell out of her chair. She stood up quickly and scrambled to the door, next to Dan and Lina, eagerly getting ready to yell again just for the sake of yelling. "I HOPE YOU BURN IN H--" Lina and Dan both cupped their hands over Karen's mouth as the class and other students of Balamb Garden laughed at this. Karen should have known better than to swear because the entire Garden was listening, including the kids and the juniors.
"It's only been two days since the last one!" Seifer was in on it too. He strode over by Lina, Dan, and Karen's side, and Scott scurried over as well, not wanting to be left out.
"SOME PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF PLAYING THE DRUMS!" Karen screamed at the top of her lungs as she jumped up and down. A few students in the class chuckled at her, but she turned around and gave them her red-eyed wrathful stare and they immediately shut up, backing off frightened.
"Good for you, well that'll be all," the intercom beeped to indicate that it was off. Dan, Karen, and Seifer shook their heads as they returned to their seats. Lina rolled her eyes.
