Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Title:
Part of Life
Author:
AmazonTurk
Rating: M
Genre: Humor
Summary: Our favorite FF7 characters and their takes on the most...unsavory parts of life. Rated M for Lemon. (taken from ff.net)
This multi-chapter fic is one of my absolute favorites. Describing the day-to-day embarassing situations various characters such as Nanaki and Tseng experience, this story is definitely worth a look. Very well written, each chapter is sure to evoke at least one laugh. In addition, each situation is highly realistic, especially when you consider that all of us have experienced dandruff or gas at one point in our lives. Nothing is funnier than seeing Rufus get head lice or Cid get seasick, or even watching Cloud discover 'Cousin It's corpse.'
Many chapters reference such pop-culture icons as The Addams Family (Chapter 17: DA DA DA DA snap snap) or A Horse With No Name (Chapter 18: On A Chocobo With No Name). This fiction references various household products such as Febreeze, effectively incorporating the 'modern world' with the 'Final Fantasy VII world.' This is the first time I've actually seen a Final Fantasy story incorporate parts of the 'modern world' without becoming an alternate universe story. Usually it's the 'Final Fantasy world' that is incorporated into the 'modern world,' not the other way around.
The author utilizes requests for chapters and situations, giving each person credit where credit is due. Also, for a predetermined amount of reviews, the author also posts a lemon in the chapter after the goal is reached. Apart from the sparse sex scenes and some innuendo, as well as a tiny amount of cursing, the chapters are mostly rated T.
