Want
To Know You
{Chapter

Be more concerned about your character than your reputation, because your
character is who you are*~*
After
the teacher had told everyone who to work with she said: “I’ll give you the
next two hours…okay it’s 70 minutes left, to get to know each other and to
start if you want. If you only want to fight with each other then do that later
this afternoon or leave class now and do it outside, please.”
Nick
walked over to Emily and sat on her desk. “Want to leave class?” he asked.
“Huh? Do you want to fight?” Emily asked confused. “No…that’s not what
I wanted you to think of me…” said Nick laughing, “I mean, we are allowed
to leave class. Who cares for what reason? So I think we should go into the park
and have a great time. Or do you have any better suggestions?” Nick asked.
“No, that’s fine with me!” said Emily. So they walked out of the classroom.
The teacher looked a little bit confused but Nick didn’t seem to notice so
Emily pretended not to notice it, too. Before they went to the park they went to
the gym because Nick had wanted to do so. Emily waited in front of the building.
When Nick came out he had a basketball in his hand and said: “I saw you
playing basketball yesterday, so I thought we could play a little game in the
park – only if that’s okay with you. I mean, I understand if you don’t
want to play basketball in the clothes you’re wearing right now and-“
“It’s okay. I want to play. Don’t worry about my clothes! They are just
clothes. I can buy new ones if I tear a hole in my jeans. I will survive.”
Said Emily. “Okay. Then I’ll shut up.” Said Nick grinning and walked with
Emily to the park.
After
the match, which Nick of course won, they sat on a bench. They were totally
exhausted. “So…” said Emily, still breathing loudly, “I heard you sing
in a band. Is that true?” “Yeah” said Nick, “how do you know?”
“Again a thing that everybody knows.” Said Emily. Nick’s expression went
serious. “Do people really talk about me that much?” he asked. “Uhm…let
me put it that way…they don’t talk about you all the time…they just know
everything about you. That’s for the most girls. And my friends and the
friends of my friends etc, were talking enough about you so I could get a first
impression.” She said. “And…what impression did you have?” he asked,
curiously. “Well…” Emily blushed, “you seemed kind of arrogant to me…but
now I don’t think that anymore.” “That’s good.” Nick laughed,
“because we can’t work with each other if we can’t stand each other. What
do people say about me?” “Some say you’re nice, some say you’re stupid,
some say you’re an as*!” answered Emily. “I think I don’t want to know
more.” Said Nick. “It’s meaningless what other people think of you. It’s
what you think of yourself and know you are that counts.” Said Emily. “Thank
you.” Said Nick.
Then
he looked on his watch. “Ten minutes left till the big break. Want to get
going?” he asked. “Okay.” Said Emily, grabbed her stuff and walked back to
school with him.
