I shouldn’t have walked away

{chapter 3}

„I kept on being someone I’m not all the way till he went on tour again. The minute he was away nothing could make me happy. Absolutely nothing. I started to dye my natural light brown hair black, wear black clothes and black contacts to hide my piercing green eyes. I joined a club in which people did the same and believed in Satan. I felt at home because there were so many people who felt the same as I did. They felt unloved.” Told Lauren Katie.

**FLASHBACK**

A week after Nick left Lauren stood in her bathroom and dyed her hair black. After she finished she looked at herself in the mirror, put in her black contacts and was satisfied. Now looked on the outside like she felt in the inside. The next day she went to school like that and of course people were looking at her. She made a lot of new friends who were into gothic too and they told her about a club for Gothics. They suggested taking her there. She said yes.

At the club she met a girl named Taurisha. She seemed really scary but it felt good to be around her. She told Lauren how to put make up on her face to look as scary as her. They got very good friends and did a lot together. One day Nick came back. The tour ended. He was 19 at this time and Lauren 17. When he saw her again he was about to scream. How did she become like that.

Nick went over to Lauren’s and rang the bell. When she opened the door he first couldn’t move at the sight of her but then he went over to her and hugged her. She was surprised at his reaction and hugged him back.

“Hey…” Nick said.

“Hey, feels good to have you back,“ said Lauren in a soft voice.

“So…how have you been?” asked Nick.

“Good, I think. I made some new friends and changed my looks, like you can see.” Lauren said.

“Yeah I can see that. But I don’t mind it though. What are you doing tonight?” asked Nick.

“I’m going to a club called ‘Toreeus’. It’s like my second home.” Said Lauren

“Can I come with you?” asked Nick. He knew it would be probably a gothic club but that didn’t bother him. He just wanted to spend some time with Lauren.

“Uh…” Lauren seemed to be shocked at his response “of course you can come with me but, you know, you go in there looking like that!”

“I know. I could wear a black cap or something, black clothes, and you could put make up on me like it has to be.” Nick offered.

“You’d really do that, just to spent time with me?” Lauren asked, her eyes watering.

“I’d do anything.” Said Nick.

So they went over to Nick’s house, he dressed in black. Put on black cap to hide his blonde hair and they went back to Lauren’s. Lauren didn’t want to put black make up stuff on his lovely face although he told her to do so. She felt like she would ruin it if she did so. So she just told him to go with her like that.

“But I have a tan and bright eyes. I don’t look like these people. Like you.” He said somewhat sad.

“You don’t have to look exactly like me or them. Those people don’t go to this club because of the way they look, but because of the way the feel inside of them. They won’t hurt you if you don’t look exactly like. Trust me, I know them.” Lauren said, looking him deep in the eyes. Looking back in her eyes he felt pain in is heart. They were so empty and even emptier with these black contacts. He was so ready to cry.
