I shouldn’t have walked away
Prologue
Lauren came
home from her work in a restaurant and she was so frustrated because her boss
screamed at her the whole day. Now she needed something to think of. Something
other than her work. She went up to her room and looked thru some old boxes when
she found an old diary of her. She opened it and began to read.
[diary entry]
I don’t know what I’m gonna do know! He asked me to stay and I walked away
from him, away from…my life. I even left the state and all I have now is…fear.
I’m afraid of starting a new life. I don’t know if I can do this. He was
there all of my life and now, I’m alone.

Lauren’s eyes started to water. She could exactly remember what she felt on
this day, about a year ago. She had never been feeling so lost in her life
before. And the worst of all, she hadn’t been sure if she made the right
decision and she still wasn’t sure. She loved him-like a brother. He was
everything to her. And she just went away from him. She broke out in tears. She
couldn’t think of him. It hurt too much. She left and now she had to live with
it.
As Katie, Lauren’s best friend and roommate, came home, she found Lauren
sitting on the couch, crying. “What’s it?” she asked her. “Nothing.”
Lied Lauren. “You sit here, crying and tell me it’s nothing? Do you think I
believe you?” Katie asked. “No”, Lauren said, “I don’t think that you
would believe me if I told you it’s nothing. It’s just, it would be much
easier if I didn’t have to tell you what happened.”
