In 1879, Maria and the two youngest children, Richard and Maria, left England on the Texas (boat), and landed at xxxxxx. In 1886, Joseph and Maria's daughter, Mary, married Fred Roo, another Englishman, (Source: Marriage certificate of Fred Roo and Mary Roden- Found by James Sandham) who had come to Canada in xxxx "to start a trading post with the red Indians." (according to family stories).
In xxxx, Fred and Mary were in Manioba. Their first child was xxxxxx, born xx xxxxxxx xxxx, in xxxxxxxxx, xxxx county. xx xxxxxxx xxxx, their 2nd child was born in xxxxx, xxxx county. On xx xxxxxx xxxx, child number 3 was born in xxxxxxx, xxxx county.
