Week 33
6/23/02 - 6/29/02
"Is This Your First?" ... I would be a very happy woman if I never had to hear those words again. I don't understand why that has to be the first question out of someone's mouth after they realize you are pregnant. I have had to answer that question so many times and it was just horrible this week at my brother's wedding when strangers just kept coming up to us, meaning well, but it got to the point where I just couldn't hear that question one more time or I would lose it!

Even though it would be easier to say Yes.. I refuse to do it. I would feel like I was denying Faith.  But I hate the look people have on their faces when we tell them it is our second and we lost our first daughter. The conversation always gets very uncomfortable after that. I guess this is just something that we will deal with our whole lives, and everytime someone asks how many children we have.

We also went to breastfeeding class this week and I had this fear of us having to go around the room or something to introduce ourselves and say what pregnancy this was... thank goodness that didn't happen. The class was very informative and Jim got a lot out of it too. We are really hoping that we are able to make breastfeeding works for us. I admit that I am not comfortable breastfeeding in public, so I hope I am able to find a balance so that I can pump and give the baby bottles when we are out.

This week was the first week that we really shopped for baby!! First,  we bought the baby her first teddy bear. We were at Babies R Us and Jim fell in love with this huge teddy bear and had to have it.  It is about 2 feet tall and SOOOO soft!!! It is yellow with a ribon around it's neck and on one of the feet is is embroidered with "My First Bear". Jim was so cute with it, carrying it all around the store.  I can't wait to take a pic of the baby beside it.. It will probably be about 4 times her size! I hope that she will always treasure this gift from Daddy.

Then Jim, Mom, and I headed down to the Carter's Outlet to shop for clothes. We stocked up on onsies, receiving blankets, caps, socks, etc etc and of course some cute outfits! Everything was so cute. It was so hard to narrow down what we wanted!!

There was also an Osh Kosh outlet and we found an adorable cream and purple outfit w/ a cap and receving blanket that will be her take me home outfit from the hospital!

Now the fun part... there is lots of laundry to do!! Good thing we already started stocking up on Dreft laundry detergent!!
