Well, first of all, the picture was of Our Lord under the appearance of bread. This is something that sets Catholics apart from other 'bible-believing Christians' (but of course if you were at the talk you'd know all about how the Bible affirms the truth of the Real Presence and how the Early Church also backs this up, thus to be a true Bible believing Christian you must believe in the Real Presence or else you're like the faithless disciples who at least had the honesty to depart from Him shaking their heads and saying 'This is a hard saying, who can hear it?'). The words Real Food reffered this time to the Christ's Body and Blood, rather than Campus Bible Study's reference to the written Word of God. The quote was referring to 'For my flesh is food indeed'. Unfortunately there is a difference in verse numbers between the KJV and Douay Rheims so for those of you with proper Bibles that quote should be 6:56. Anyway, getting back to the point . . .
James Chegwidden gave an introduction to the Sacraments. He explained why the Sacraments are so important, what the Sacraments are and then fielded questions that were mostly on the Eucharist. He explained how each of the Sacraments was instituted by Christ Himself and the evidence we have from the Bible and the Church Fathers. For more details you can reply to this email or come to the talks or why not both.
