The Fairy Festival started in
2005 when a lady named
Cynthia came back from
England with an idea. During
her travels there, she had
attended a Fairy Faire and
when she returned to Oregon she was
excited to create a similar event locally.
She called on her friends to help org-anize the event, and her friends called on their friends, and as this group of friends joined together they called themselves, simply, "Friends of Fairies."
The event was not created with profit in mind but was intended to be a place for other fairy lovers (for there are many!) to come and play. Cynthia continues to channel the funds that are earned back into the event, so that it can become more elaborate each year. Each year, Friends of Fairies contributes a part of the proceeds to causes that protect and preserve nature.
