Fairwood Shelties
is located in Tallmadge, Ohio which is just one hour Southeast
of Cleveland, Ohio. My name is Lynn Schaber and I show my dogs
in conformation, agility, herding and obedience. My husband,
Dave, is not active in the "dog world" but he gives
me lots of support and encouragement. And of course, he is there
to provide tender loving care to the dogs who have to stay home
when I'm on the road with those that are being shown.
I began showing
in obedience with my first family pet sheltie, Molly, in 1992.
I continued to work with her as a registered therapy dog for
two years. I attained my first show quality dog in 1996. He was
a sable boy whom I called Rush. Little did I know
what a real RUSH he would be for me!! I began to actively show
in conformation with Rush and then ventured into agility and
herding to earn points for his VCX title. This summer we finally
earned his CD title.
My dogs are housedogs
who spend their days lounging at home while I am working to support
their hobbies. During the evening and weekend hours we spend
our time together training or competing in various doggy sports.
And occasionally find time to stay at home and do regular household
chores or take the dogs for walks in the park.

I value mental and
structural soundness in shelties. Both attributes are important
to succeed in all venues of the dog world. I rarely breed, but
when I do my goal is to produce shelties that make excellent
companions as well as great performance and conformation prospects.
All of my puppies are provided with a variety of experiences
and lots of socialization during their first two months of life
in order to prepare them for their future whether it be as a
show dog, performance dog or a beloved family pet.
