On October 20th, we had Fairview Elementary's first Family Garden Work Day.  More than 60 people showed up to help contribute to the creation of our community's School Garden.

We painted fruit and vegetable signs, made a scarecrow and bird blinders, prepared and ate delicious foods (including a yummy salsa), and built, filled and planted three
16 foot raised garden beds.  It was a fantastic show of generosity and dedication to the idea of community.  Thanks to everyone that pitched in!
Mrs. Cucchiaro was a wonderful welcome committee!

There were many hard workers!  Here are some preparing space for the beds.
We built Fairview Fred, our scarecrow
A lot of people made this event possible... here are a few wonderful helpers priming our signs...
Mrs. Martin-Meyer pitched in with her typical determination and "moxy".
