�Reiki� means 'universal life force', and it is that life energy that one uses to help another heal. When one learns Reiki, as with all other forms of energy work, one learns that it is not their personal energy that is doing the work, rather the healer in a sense 'channels' the universal energy, or earths energy, or God's healing power, or whatever name you wish to give it. This channelling of energy helps the heelee's energy to come into balance, or release blocks, therefore healing.
Energy healing is something that anyone can learn how to do. There are many forms of energy work, Healing touch, therapeutic touch, Reiki, laying on of hands, etc... T
They are all very similar in that they all work with a persons (or animals) energy to help bring them back to a state of natural balance.
Because Energy work knows no boundaries I teach Reiki 'long distance' which means I can teach it to someone wherever they live, be that 100 kms or 3000 kms away from me. I also teach classes in North Vancouver BC through out the summer.
Reiki is a little different from other healing modalities. Reiki involves being 'attuned' to the 'Reiki healing ray' or specific Reiki healing energy. An attunement means that your energy field is opened to receiving this energy and you have the ability to use this healing energy in sessions with others.
There are four levels in Reiki.
Reiki First Degree.
The student is opened to the Reiki energy and attuned to the first �symbol� of Reiki energy. The student learns the traditional Reiki hand positions and how to work with other.
Reiki Second Degree.
The student is attuned to another two Reiki symbols and learns how to draw and use them in healing. They also learn how to send long distance, or absent healing to others.
Reiki First and Second Degree Combination.
The same as the above two courses, but taught in a single day.
Reiki Third Degree.
Many people teach third degree and masters together, this requires the student to take in a lot of information in a short period of time and is quite overwhelming, for this reason I as my teacher does have separated the two. Third degree involves attunements to the last symbols in Reiki and the learning of another healing technique. For someone who does not wish to teach or attune others this is as far as they need go.
Reiki Master/Teacher:
For people wanting to learn to pass attunements and teach energy healing. This also involves learning �Healing Attunements�.
Healing Attunements.
Allows someone to feel the benefit of an attunement without becoming initiated into the Reiki ray. The energy of an attunement is more powerful and effective than a regular session. It has longer lasting effects and is useful in chronic, or serious dis-eases.
