Fairbanks Pagans
The Pagan Community in Fairbanks has had more that its share of ups and downs. In the early 1990s there were 5 Covens and a number of Pagan groups, including a group on the University of Alaska campus and several groups on Fort Wainwright. During this time there were monthly Meet and Greets, Rituals, Socials and classes being conducted. These events were well attended and things seemed to be on the up swing for Pagans in the Fairbanks area. Unfortunately this upswing in Paganism in the Fairbanks area only lasted a couple of years. Today there is one Pagan shop doing business in Fairbanks and occasionally people gather there for a Meet and Greet. There are individuals who have tried and are still are trying to bring together Pagans in the Fairbanks area together for Meet and Greets, Socials and Rituals. While the Pagan community may be quiet and somewhat in the broom closet, it is our hope that you will find the support you desire and perhaps help us revive the Fairbanks Pagan Community.
There is an established Coven in the area whose members gathers for rituals and training. It was established in 1999 as a teaching Coven, is very family oriented and membership is open to everyone. Coven members are not required to attend circles, gatherings or lessons but instead are encouraged to take an active part in things that interest them. Most of the training provided is accomplished through hands on experience which is occasionally supplemented with reading assignments and written lessons. Training is provided individually and in a group setting. If you would like more information about the Coven, please send an email to The Elder
We are not evil
We don't harm or seduce people
We are not dangerous
We are ordinary people like you
We have families, jobs, hopes, dreams
We are not a cult
This religion is not a joke
We are not what you think we are from looking at TV
We are real
We laugh, we cry
We are serious
We have a sense of humor
You don't have to be afraid of us
We don't want to convert you
And please don't try to convert us
Just give us the same right we give you--to live in peace
We are much more than you think
