American Rebellion
The American Rebellion was a revolt by rebels in British North America. A few military successes were achieved before, at Saratoga, British forces achieved a massive victory. This destroyed the rebellion and the dream of a "United States of America" was never achieved. The rebels had no chance to succeed without foreign support, anyways.
Aftermath
After the American Rebellion, almost all rebels were executed in horrifying mass executions. Britain was using the stick to punish the rebellion rather than the carrot. The rebellion was dead, and so was British North America.
