My Visit to England, Denmark,
Cyprus, Lebanon and Egypt.
Copenhagen-Denmark. Amalienborg Palace-Denmark.
It was a very nice experience for me to visit these countries. I
have visited many of the Islamic Center of England and I was very
happy to see that how rapid they are progressing in Islamic
Teachings and Daa'wah activities. In England, i have stayed in The Cumberland Hotel which is on the
Edware Street in London. I found the people friendly in United
Kingdom. I have experienced lot of funny events there. Just I want
to say that England is very much better than American countries
and Denmark got a very beautiful environment.
My
Voyage to My Favorite Place On Earth, Meeca, Home of the Kabbah
Mashallah, by the grace of God. I have been able to travel with my
big family of 5 to the house of Allah; the Kabbah more than 15
times. 22 times for Umrah and twice for Hajj. We went for Hajj in
1987 and 1994. My last visit for my Umrah was on 10th October
2006.
It was my most amazing trip of my life, especially Hajj. There
were 2 million people praying to one God, Allah non-stop. It
spiritually and mentally cleansed me. All a person wants to do is
stay all day and all night praying, asking Allah to forgive me for
my sins, praying for everyone I know, and crying cause I felt and
am so blessed.
Journey of Hajj
Islam means acknowledging the oneness of God, surrendering to it,
cooperating with the way things are. Being a Muslim, God is as
near as the veins in my neck.
During the Hajj each year, millions of faithful come to Mecca. The
men and women wear simple lengths of unstitched cloth. The
garments are a symbol. The person who wears them agrees not to
harm plants and animals or fellow pilgrims. No arguments, no
violence. We agree to keep the peace. The garments are a great
leveler too. Who can tell rich from poor?
Millions Descend on Mecca
Here I join people from all over the earth, all these human beings
drawn together by the call of an idea, by the oneness of God. We
have left daily life behind and come to a place hardly belonging
to this world, a place filled by the almost tangible presence of
God.
To preserve its sanctity and protect pilgrims, the sacred
territory around Mecca is forbidden to all but Muslims. It lies
hidden in the mountains of Saudi Arabia 50 miles from the Red Sea,
a modern city of 1.2 million people.
To walk around the block in Mecca is to walk around the world. I
step out the door and for 15 yards, I’m in Indonesia. Down the
street past a couple of stores and it’s Africa. Pakistan is just
around the corner and then I’m in Bangladesh.
A vast majority of the world’s one billion Muslims—80
percent—now live outside the Middle East. There are more than
five million in the United States.
The Hajj goes on inside the hearts and thoughts of each of us.
There is an old proverb—before you visit Mecca, it beckons you.
When you leave it behind, it calls you forever.
My Journey to Cairo and Luxor in
Egypt
Egypt is a beautiful Islamic city with a lot of history. People
are baffled to this day with the pyramids, but I find the Muslim
history very interesting too. It was amazing praying in such an
ancient mosque that still exists after hundreds of years. This
mosque as you can see is quite exquisite. We enjoyed taking about
ride down the river Nile, visiting the Cairo Museum, and visiting
the tombs for King Tut, the queens and kings in Luxor.
