So.
My personal disk is now broken. Not corrupted. Broken, as in 'in more than
one piece.'
It was an accident, and the person who did it is very sorry, but everything since
my last backup is now gone. This includes the next arc of Dissociation.
I now understand completely why Mission X is on hold. Having that much of
your work lost really saps your will to write. Sorry to the few people who
like the story as much as I do, but I'm afraid it's going to be a while.

I suppose I should thank those of you who have encouraged and/or pestered me
into writing again. (grins)
I'm afraid Dissociation is still on hold, though. In other news, my email has
been changed, and my bio revised. Figures that right about when I decide to
start answering anonymous reviews, in-story responses are no longer allowed.
So I'm putting them in my profile. If I can't find your email address, your
review will be answered the next time I update my profile. If I later get
your address, I will take down your review response and email it to you.

Janey also pointed out that in A.A.O.F.A. Heiji’s got it rough. Not only can he not
communicate with Kazuha by phone, note, or text
message, he apparently can’t access email, either. Just take a look at

(grins) And I like the new private mail/review reply thing. For one
thing, it means that I can limit the responses posted in my profile to
anonymous reviews.
Reread the "-ion trilogy" (Infiltration, Operation, Explication)
the other day. Was pleasantly surprised to still be proud of having written
it. Somewhat less pleasantly surprised at how confusing they were.
Apparently, some details didn't make it from brain-world to typed product,
especially in Explication. I think that should be fixed now, though you still
need to read all three if you want to know how I thought it happened.
As warned, Phantoms and Shadows has been updated and moved to the Yu-Gi-Oh category.
This is going to be my last update for a while. You guessed it, another
computer hiatus. Might be back next month. Might be back anytime next year.
(shrugs) We'll see.

I appear to be back. Unfortunately, I managed to injure my hand enough to
make serious typing impractical, so it'll probably be quite a while until the
next update.

So...Update.

Plus 'New Tricks' has been edited so that I'm happier with it.
Also, one of the major reasons I got an account was these wonderful things
called Favorites lists. Only I seem to have run out of room.
Then I discovered that you can use C2s as auxiliary lists.
So all completed stories have now been moved from my Favorite Stories list to
my new C2 in the interests of organization and storage space. Please don't
neglect them there!

Despite my life's efforts to the contrary, not only have I updated, it's even
one of my ongoing stories. Aren't you proud of me?
In other news, the other day I saw an image for a jigsaw puzzle with the cast
of Detective Conan on it declaring proudly that "The Truth Is Always
One!"
(snicker) I doubt that Shinichi would have gotten far in algebra if he'd been
going around announcing that one.

My life has decided it doesn't like me, I swear.
However, I now have a webpage and a forum. I also, despite my better judgement, have done an outtake based on what seems to the most popular bit from Chapter 4 of 'Phantoms and Shadows.' I doubt I'll post it at FF.net, but you can see it here.

Livejournal link is now posted in my profile. 'Skeptical High Priest' outtake is still up and can be accessed through said livejournal or the front page of my website. And the complete and total lack of activity on the forums is starting to get a little demoralizing.
(Edit: was informed that some people just couldn't /find/ the forums. That link is also in my profile, right between the 'send message' and 'email' links.)
My life still appears to have a grudge against me, but I did manage to get a few more oneshots up. Though the next 'Phantoms and Shadows' update is looking distressingly far away. Sorry.
Plus another freakin' computer hiatus. (sighs)
My computer's getting shipped out, I may get it back anytime from next week to months from now, and may or may not be able to access another one in the meantime. Anything I get /will/ be responded to once I get the opportunity, though.

Would you look at that, I actually finished a multichapter story.
Still no reliable computer access, though; trying to work something out. Am trying to swat new plotbunnies out of the way so I can get back to my other multichapter stories. The crackbunnies are not helping.

Plus an immediate relative is seriously ill.
Yeah, writing is going to be delayed a bit further...
