Darla goes to Angel's apartment and tells him that Buffy is going to kill him, so he might as well kill her before that happens. She tries to convince him to stop denying who he is.  Angel agrees and they head out to kill Buffy.  When Angel refuses to kill Buffy, Darla decided to do it. She tells Buffy that she is Angel's sire and they spent a long time together.  Darla shoots Angel with a gun to get him out of the way while she takes on Buffy. While she had Buffy in her sights, Angel staked her.
Becoming Part 1 Darla was sired 400 years ago.  150 years after she was sired, she met a rich man's son named Liam. She turned him into a vampire who called himself Angelus.
