Shinigami

The Gotei 9 is the name given to the 9 Divisions of the Shinigami in Soul Society. Anyone classified as a Shinigami is put into 1 of the 9 Divisions, whether they are a Captain or Vice-Captain, hold a Seat, or are just a member, they are still an important part of the Division.

Each Division of the Gotei 9 has a Captain and a Vice Captain, they are generally the strongest of the whole Division. To become a Captain, a Shinigami must first have achived Bankai as one of the prerequisites. The Captain and Vice Captain usually travel together and get along well.

A Shinigami cannot be seen in the human world, they leave Soul Society when they are going on missions to balance the Spirits in the World. Those that can see Ghosts can generally not see Shinigami, but there are exceptions and it is a very rare gift.

Each Shinigami wears black robes with white trimming and a white cloth belt. On special occassions they wear a arm band to signify thier rank in their specific Division. The Captain of a Division wears a White Robe with the Number of their Division in Kanji on the back.

The Shinigami have three duties:
To preform the 'Soul Burial' and send ghosts to Soul Society or Hell.
To track down and 'clense' hollows from the human world.
To regulate and balance the souls in each world.

Zanpakuto
A Zanpakuto is the weapon of Shinigami, Vizards, and Allancar. Special Abilities whether granted by a user's shikai or bankai are all created like any other technique. Most Zanpakuto look like a standard katana when sealed, which grants +4 damage. If a weapon has a different form, then a different set of damage will be applied to it. All shinigami start out with Asauchi until they can achieve their shikai, this is a standard looking katana with an oval crossguard.

Shikai
When a Shinigami reaches a certain level of power, they become aware of their Zanpakuto spirit, once they learn the name of their spirit and retrieve their Zanpakuto from their spirit's world, they can call it out at anytime.

A reiatsu of 10,000 required to achieve Shikai, once Shikai is unsealed the user's reiatsu, kidou, skills, and hits are multiplied by two in a half times (x2.5). The user can add two special abilities to their character sheet for free when their shikai is achieved, though the abilities must be created. If a character falls below a total of half their hits, their Zanpakuto reseals. On every fourth phase the Shikai benefits are negated for that phase.
Experience Cost: 50

Sealed Shikai
A rare few Shinigami never bother finding out the name of their Zanpakuto, eventually when they reach a certain level of power, their Zanpakuto spirit vanishes, all that remains is a standard looking katana with no guard, the length of the blade is jagged instead of sharp.

A reiatsu of 15,000 is required to achieve a Full-Time Sealed Zanpakuto, a shinigami that passes that point can achieve a substantial amount of power from the vanishing of their spirit, the user's reiatsu, kidou, skills, and hits are multiplied by two in a half times (x2.5) permanantly. The draw back is the shinigami can never get shikai abilities, or achieve the standard bankai, they can only hope to survive until they can achieve what is known as a Sealed Bankai.
Experience Cost: 75

Bankai (Newly Acquired)
A rare few Shinigami eventually achieve a certain level of power that puts them above other Shinigami, this is the ability to call forth Bankai, most Zanpakuto change dramatically with their bankai. Only the most powerful of Shinigami get to this point.

A reiatsu of 75,000 is required to achieve this level of bankai, a shinigami that achieves it, can attempt to call forth their bankai by rolling a 1d100, they must get over a 64, unless they take the time to prepare (adding 33% each phase spend preparing, on the third phase a person can call out their Bankai as long as they don't roll a 1-3). The user's reiatsu, kidou, skills, and hits are multiplied by five times (x5). They get a free Bankai ability to add to their sheet, also the Bankai can use any of their Shikai abilities. However, good things don't last forever, if a character drops under half their hits, they bankai reseals. Also each phase a character must roll 1d100, if they roll under 25%, their bankai can not be maintained and reseals.
Experience Cost: 100

Bankai (True)
A rare Shinigami eventually achieve a certain level of power that puts them above other even the most powerful of Shinigami, this is the ability to call forth Bankai at any time.

A reiatsu of 150,000 is required to achieve the next level of bankai, a shinigami that achieves it, can call forth their bankai. The user's reiatsu, kidou, skills, and hits are multiplied by seven in a half times. (x7.5). However, good things don't last forever, if a character drops under half their hits, they bankai reseals. Also each phase a character must roll 1d100, if they roll under 25%, their bankai can not be maintained and reseals.
Experience Cost: 200 (or 100 if you have the first level of Bankai).

Bankai (Master)
The highest level a Shinigami can obtain, that sets them apart from all other shinigami is the mastery of their Bankai, this is the ability to call forth Bankai at any time, unlock the last of its powers and maintain it almost indefinitely.

A reiatsu of 300,000 is required to achieve the next level of bankai, a shinigami that achieves it, can attempt to call forth their bankai. The user's reiatsu, kidou, skills, and hits are multiplied by ten times. (x10). A character gets a second bankai ability. A mastered bankai only reseals if the user is knocked below a fourth of their hits.

Experience Cost: 300 (or 100 if you have the second level of Bankai).

Sealed Bankai
The few Shinigami that never bothered finding out the name of their Zanpakuto, find themselves hard pressed to survive to this state of power, but those that do find out the truth of it, their Zanpakuto spirit is silenced forever, still their Zanpakuto is a standard looking katana with no guard, the length of the blade is jagged instead of sharp.

A reiatsu of 200,000 is required to achieve a Sealed Bankai, a shinigami that passes that point can achieve a substantial amount of power from the silence of their spirit, the user's reiatsu, kidou, skills, and hits are multiplied by an additional seven in a half times (x7.5) permanantly. The draw back is the shinigami can never get shikai abilities, or achieve the standard bankai.
Experience Cost: 300 (or 225 if you have Sealed Shikai)

Quincy

The Quincy use to have a clan structure, but that has fallen into decay in this day and age. The Quincy for the most part are just individual humans, their numbers are low for a couple of reasons, unlike the Shinigami, the Quincy haven't recovered from the Quincy-Shinigami War, also with the peace accord between the Shinigami (see Sagas), many Quincy have died fighting against the 'marked' hollows, as they are typically more powerful then a standard hollow. For varies reasons, the Quincy fight amongst each other as well, since the fall of the clan system, each of them want to be superior to the others some call it pride, some call it arrogance. It would take an event that threatened the Quincy as a whole to bring them together again.

Quincy Bow
By absorbing and compressing the spiritons in the air around them a Quincy can form a bow with a cross as a focus. This bow has two different abilites, the first is the ability to compress the spiriton into an arrow, which doesn't require the use of a person's reiatsu, this doesn't grant any extra damage. The second is the ability to shape spiriton into the form of an energy arrow and fire it.

Spiriton Arrow: Same as a Kidou Attack.

Spirit Scattering Gauntlet
When a Quincy receives the Spirit Scattering Gauntlet, they must train with it for seven days straight. This training is normally done alone because the Gauntlet constantly draws spiritons from the area, which can harm other people if to much is drawn from them. After the Quincy has mastered the Gauntlet, they can use its full powers.

A reiatsu of 20,000 is required to achieve mastery over the Spirit Scattering Gauntlet, a quincy that passes that point can achieve a substantial amount of power from this mastery, the user's reiatsu, kidou, skills, and hits are multiplied by two in a half times (x2.5) permanantly.

If a Quincy ever willingly breaks the Gauntlet, the Spiriton will rapidly be absorbed around them, giving them an amazing bonus of power that will only last for a limited amount of time. From this bonus of power, the user's reiatsu, kidou, skills, and hits are multiplied by ten times (x10). Once the power wears off the user can no longer fight, his energy is depleted and he will pass out. The Gauntlet is gone forever, in very rare cases, Quincy have received a second Gauntlet in time.
Experience Cost: 50

Quincy Pentacle Bow
Only a Quincy that has learned the Quincy Bow and mastered the Spirit Scattering Gauntlet can receive the Pentacle, which when used as a focus will allow them to form the Quincy Pentacle Bow, which looks almost exactly like the Quincy bow, except that it has a Pentacle at the arrow rest. The Pentacle Bow also allow the Quincy the ability to rapidly absorb Spiritons and expand them with his abilities.

A reiatsu of 75,000 is required to achieve the Pentacle, once a Quincy activates it the user's reiatsu, kidou, skills, and hits are multiplied by five times (x5). However, good things don't last forever, if a character drops under half their hits, the pentacle bow can not be maintained and vanishes. Also each phase a character must roll 1d100, if they roll under 25%, the pentacle can not be maintained and vanishes.
Experience Cost: 100

Pride of the Quincy
Only a Quincy that has learned the Pentacle and retained their mastered Spirit Scattering Gauntlet can achieve the Pride of the Quincy. They must train constantly for seven days with the Gauntlet and Pentacle Bow before they can achieve the Pride of the Quincy.

A reiatsu of 175,000 is required to achieve the Pride of the Quincy, once a quincy achieves it the user's reiatsu, kidou, skills, and hits are multiplied by seven and five times (x7.5). However, good things don't last forever, if a character drops under a fourth their hits, the Pride of the Quincy can not be maintained and vanishes.

If a Quincy ever willingly breaks the Gauntlet while using Pride of the Quincy, Spiritons will rapidly be absorbed around them, giving them an amazing boost of power that will only last for a limited amount of time but is by far the greatest power ever seen. From this boost of power, the user's reiatsu, kidou, skills, and hits are multiplied by fifteen times (x15). Once the power wears off the user can no longer fight, his energy is depleted and he will pass out. The Gauntlet is gone forever, in very rare cases, Quincy have received a second Gauntlet in time.
Experience Cost: 200

Human+

No one quite knows how the being known as Human+ come about, it commonly believed that they have absorbed raw reiatsu from another source, possibly a hollow or shinigami while they are on earth. They are different as different from Quincy, the only other known humans with high reiatsu, as Quincy are from Shinigami. There seems to be no real pattern to the way their abilities manifest, or even what their abilities are. One thing is for certain, Human Pluses have become more common in the spiritual awareness world.

First Ability
The excess amount of reiatsu in a Human's body normally finds an out by manifesting in some ability. These are the domains of the Human+, the ability that makes them unique. This can be a variety of things, just like the abilities of a Shinigami's Zanpakuto.

Ichidou
Some humans have great resolve, others have great training, and some are just on a completely seperate spiritual level, whatever the case, this is commonly referred to as attaining Ichidou. The first true stage of power in the human spirit, a human that achieves this state is rare indeed, though the power is fleeting it can mean the difference between life and death.

A reiatsu of 10,000 required to achieve Ichidou, once Ichidou is activated the user's reiatsu, kidou, skills, and hits are multiplied by two in a half times (x2.5). The power of the human spirit can be fleeting, each phase a character must roll 1d100, if they roll under 25%, their spirit can not be maintained the state of Ichidou.
