Tim Kaye

How was the tour thus far?
It was amazing.

Any memorable moments on tour?
We got a flat tire on 8 mile (Chicago) and another in a cornfield in Illinois.

So on the tour did you have any tour mates?
I haven't had any tour mates as of yet. We are trying a tour with this guy Matt Pless. We [the band and I] are looking for some bands to play with.

What are you currently reading?
The Rock and Roll Singer's Handbook, it teaches you what is good for your voice and what not. Like no beer. It's bad for your throat.

Did you enjoy artscape?
Of course I did, I got to see Morris Day and the Time! What could be better than that?

I noticed that Morris Day has a little influence on your stage performance.
You noticed, thanks. Just a little.

Do you have a favorite local talent?
There is this amazing saxophone player, Tom Walker. In my opinion he is better than Coltrane.

Do you like performing locally or in other states? Definitely Baltimore, I'm from here and I just love the atmosphere.

What was it like just opening up for Ben Lee?
It was surreal, because I have been a big fan since he started. T met him and he was really nice. It was fantastic.

When did you decide to get into the music business?
In high school, when everyone else was thinking about college.

NOTE: Tim Kaye plays piano, guitar, drums, bass, and the flute.
