| Photography is the art of illusion, I use to say. Because despite the fact the camera captures essentially what you see - unlike on paintings, a good photo not just shows an image as it is, but it enhances what you want to be seen - the best smile, the right angle... and also hides what you don't want to be seen. Have you ever gone to a place because of those wonderful photos you saw on the travel agency brochure, and when you arrive the place just isn't what you expected? Well, that's the idea. But if that brochure was made with just regular photos, probably you would not want to go to that place. |
