Rare Poems by Charles Bukowski.
My top 10 albums, top 10 songs, favorite lyrics, favorite BG songs, and finally bottom 10 songs of all time.
Both before and now, the champion is and it will forever be CSKA. Dig it :o>
Spot the script of Trainspotting.
Literature - I read a lot, and like many kinds of literature. Here is a small sample of the authors I like most:
- Charles Bukowski - he is my all time favorite. Here you can find some rare stuff by him
- Douglas Adams - Yes, the answer is 42 (here is his most famous work)
- Isaac Asimov - the SF godfather
- Ilf & Petroff - satyricon of the communism, and not only
- Curt Voneghut - he's got the style
- William Burrows - another underground author that rocks the boat of the mainstream,
- and of course there are zillions of other authors I'd like to mention, but I don't think you have the time to scroll through some 50 pages of names :o)
Music - I have been often described as 'a typical meloman', so if you dare to take a look at my 'Top/Bottom 10 of everything that has ever passed through my ears', you can see why is that so. Good Luck :oP In high school, I was playing the drums in a band called 'C200'. We were trying to combine the heaviness and the speed of early Metallica albums with the diversity and genuinety of the late Led Zeppelin stuff. Quite frankly we were not that good and ambitious to make any progress at all but, boy, didn't we have fun!
Sports - hey, even though I look somewhat husky I am not a couch potato at all. I love playing football (for some reason they call it soccer in the US), tennis, Ping-Pong (man, I kick butt), volleyball, and, of course, I adore swimming. Favorite football team - CSKA Sofia
Movies & TV - of course, as a television worker I do not watch much TV, but when I do, there are only few channels, and shows who would catch my attention. Here is a list of them:
- American Cartoons:Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, Cow & Chicken, What A Cartoon, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain
- Japanese Anime
- Bulgarian Comedy Shows:Koo-Koo, Ulicata (The Street)
- British and American Sitcoms: Cheers, click here for some normisms ; The Monty Python Flying Circus; Father Ted; Men Behaving Badly; The Red Dwarf; The Simpsons; Fawlty Towers; Frasier;
Cinemawise, to be honest, I haven't seen a decent movie lately, and I am particularly disappointed with the american productions. Anyway, you can take a look at the ones I liked most:
Trainspotting. Some people see in it yet another junkey story, other find it mindblowing tragedy, third swear it's a great comedy. Few read between the lines and see that it is a story about the loss of faith and ideals in the modern generation. Here you can find the script of that truely cult movie.
Pulp Fiction. American production in the french modernism's film-noir style. Deadly good. Tarantino at his very best. No wonder why this guy has so many fans.
Star Wars. Didn't we all grow with that saga. Despite of the sucky attempts by mr. Lucas to renew it, I am still big fan of that film.
Lock, Stock, And Two Smoking Barrels. Too much fun, don't watch it if you have heart problems or are brain dead. This is how european comedy should look like in the next Millenium.
The Wall. Symbolism taken to the limit, depressing and beautiful. Post-war Europe, sadness, neo-fasicsm, broken dreams and insanity, rebels against the wall that surrounds each one of us. Based on the Pink Floyd's album this piece of movie has changed many lives. Mine too.
Wchera (Yesterday). Bulgarian movie about the real values of life, friendship and betrayal. Good script and excellent cinematography. The only bulgarian movie capable of being a good competition to the multi-zillion dollars american and west european productions.
