Trip Log

Day 10

Many people went for an early morning dive, as we had our coffee and finished packing up.  We were dropped off at the Red Mangrove about 10 am and checked in.

We walked to Darwin station and hiked around there, saw the captive tortoises and other displays. Then we met everyone back in town around 1 pm to join them for lunch and a hike in the highlands to see the wild tortoises.

These guys are big! And although they are wild, many didn't mind if you came quite close and get pictures.  If you moved too quick, they would duck in their shell.  We also hiked around a crater and saw some of the Highlands of  Santa Cruz.

Then into town to meet with a Dr. friend of Antonio's who runs the Hyperbaric chamber.  It was a treat seeing that and an honor meeting him.

We said our goodbyes and walked back to the Hotel.  We had dinner in town and hit the hay pretty early. Tomorrow we were going to Guayaquil…. Then back to San Francisco.

What an amazing trip.
