The 1965 Schwinn Sting-Ray Deluxe in Violet. Schwinn Sting-Ray's have always been the kings of all muscle bikes. With the extra-wide monkey bars to the aftermarket wind powered bubble machine, this Sting-Ray is always fun to roll on. Cruising the Carbondale, IL strip on a mission to barter with the Bagelman some toke from our joint for a couple of bagel sandwiches... Ridin' for miles in a straight line with DeezNutz at my side...The upgrade to a Schwinn speedo was a smart improvement to the cockpit. Future improvements are a rear Whitewall Slik to match the front Westwind whitewall as well as a Bendix blue band 2-speed kickback hub mated to an S-2 rim. This bike could use a respray, but I don't forsee that happening in the near future. I respect the patina that this bike has accumulated over the years. It is also nice not to have to worry about scratchin' the Earl Scheib when bustin' my ass poppin' wheelies.
