USB Driver Installation

What do you want Windows to do
Search or display a list of drivers in a specific location.

Search: "Next"
Specify location
Browse, CD ROM Driver
1. Start the computer up so you have the desktop showing.
2. Now have them goto the DEVICE MANAGER
a. to get there goto MY COMPUTER then CONTROL PANEL
b. then goto SYSTEMS and choose the 2nd tab DEVICE MANAGER
3. Have them look for UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS(controller)
a. tell them to click on the plus sign beside it
4. Now have them look for the USB COMPOSITE DEVICE and REMOVE it
a. also see if there are any UNKNOWN DEVICES and REMOVE them too
5. Now tell them to restart there computer
a. when it boots up it's going to find new hardware
6. Have them SEARCH FOR THE BEST DRIVER
a. then SPECIFY A LOCATION
b. make sure everything is unchecked except SPECIFY A LOCATION
c. now goto BROWSE
d. look for your CD-ROM drive letter

e. next to the drive letter, it should say PCX1100U or USB DRIVERS
f. double click on FOLDER or USB DRIVERS until you see three windows
operating systems - win98se, winME, win2000
g. then select your OPERATING SYSTEMS folder
h. then click OK
i. now have them click NEXT all the way to FINISH
7. It's going to find new hardware again
a. everything should already be selected
b. just click NEXT all the way to FINISH
c. might ask for your OPERATING SYSTEM CD if not ok
d. after it gets done it will ask you to restart your computer and click YES
8. When the computer reboots make sure they get a PC LIGHT and an IP ADDRESS
a. if they do tell them to run the SELF CONNECT CD
9. And that's all
