The Bengal Tiger
Panthera tigris tigris
The Bengal tiger is found, for the most part, in India, with a few in Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Myanmar.

What people know as a white tiger IS a Bengal, and really is no different than an orange Bengal except that it has the recessive gene for its white coloration, blue eyes, and chocolate stripes.
The first wild white Bengal was caught in 1951 as a cub, but poaching and habitat loss as become so intense, that a white tiger has not been seen in the wild in over 20 years and can now only be viewed in zoos.
Bengals can live in a range of climate from the very cold to the dry Indian peninsula.

The main diet for this subspecies of tiger is mainly wild deer and wild cattle.

The male bengal can grow to be about 480 pounds, while the female about 300.
