West Paterson, NJ - Throughout her first four years in the wrestling business, Dawn Marie served as a ringside valet leading many individuals and tag teams to championship gold. On Sunday, February 11, 2001, Dawn Marie made the difficult transition from valet to professional wrestler as she competed in her first-ever-wrestling match with the Independent Wrestling Federation in West Paterson, New Jersey.

Dawn Marie, who has been training intensely over the past several months with Simon Diamond and Kevin Knight at the Camp IWF Pro Wrestling Training Centre, teamed with Knight and lost to IWF Heavyweight Champion Roman and Jade Divine in a mixed tag-team bout at the IWF Centre as part of the "IWF Rampage" weekly television tapings.

Earlier in the show, Dawn and Knight attacked Divine as she was on the way to the ring to compete in a bout with HP Walker against Dr. Hurtz and Marc Verow. After Divine was confronted and slapped by Dawn, Knight picked up Divine and speared her headfirst into the ring post, while in the ring, Hurtz and Verow laid out Walker. Roman made his way to ringside and saved Divine, which set up the historic main event mixed-tag-bout booked by Commissioner AJ Sparxx.

The heated contest saw Dawn and Knight gain the upper hand by using some early double-team tactics. Dawn was able to unleash some surprising high-flying offense against Roman, including a drop-kick, a huracanrana and a head-scissors. Divine held her own against Knight, using a barrage of chops, clotheslines and then hit a money-flip for a near fall. When the smoke cleared, Divine rolled up Dawn with a small-package, which was reversed with assistance by Knight, then reversed a second time by Roman as referee Mike Kehner counted the fall at 15:02. Roman and Divine celebrated their big win much to the delight of the fans.

In title matches at the taping, IWF Heavyweight Champion Roman defeated Hadrian and Bret Thomas in a Triple Threat Match; IWF American Champion Biggie Biggs pinned Kasey Coresh; and IWF Tag Team Champions Dr. Hurtz & Marc Verow of 'Condition: Critical' defeated HP Walker and Jade Divine of 'Pleasure & Pain.' In other bouts, Kevin Knight pinned Rob Eckos; Hadrian pinned Ryan Rage; 'Debonair' Damian Adams (w/ Mr. Mike Winner) pinned Rob Eckos; 'Condition: Critical' defeated Ryan Rage and PW Stryker; High Stakes (w/ Nikki Doll) defeated JT Blaze and St. Patrick; and Bret Thomas won a 5-man Survivor Match over Kasey Coresh, PW Stryker, Damian Adams and St. Patrick.

The next big IWF live event takes place March 24, 2001, 8 p.m., at the Jewish Community Center, 760 Northfield Avenue, West Orange, New Jersey. Highlighting ''Desperate Measures'' will be former ECW World Champion ''Old School'' Steve Corino, Kevin Knight, Biggie Biggs, Roman, ''Condition: Critical,'' Hadrian, Rapid Fire Maldonado, Allison Danger and all the stars of the IWF.
