Welcome to my "about me" page

As you can see, I am a passionated collector of World Fair items and more specific the 1958 Brussels World Fair.
For some it's kitch and for others it's antique.
For me it's a passion
I collect everything from the
BRUSSELS WORLD FAIR 1958
as you can see on my collection
About  me
I live in Belgium in a small village called NIEL which is located just between Antwerp and Brussels on the A12 motorway
Proffesionaly I try to design industrial kitchens for use in retsaurants and large communities. So I work a lot
with stainless steel, a product very well known in 1958 at the Brussels World Fair. I am not a wizard on computer but now and then I try to modify my existing collectors pages in the hope that some day I am pleased with it and stop changing.

I started collecting some 20  years ago. As collector of postmarks I was looking for a new challenge and decided to start up a new collection on touristic stamps from Belgium. After a short while I came in possession of the Pavilion stamps on Expo 58 and I started the search for information on those buildings.
I looked on antiques markets and asked my friends and so the passion was born. It has brought me to the position I am in now. I possess at the moment around 10.000 different items who are all related to the Brussels World Fair 1958.I must say that a large part of my collection consists of paper items. For instance the postcard section alone is allready more than 2000 pieces big. All the stamps and related material on stamps give around a 1000 pieces.
As I see almost every day some new items, not that I can have them, I think that for the moment I can say that my
collection is about 1/3 of what there is ever brought out on collectible pieces on the most wonderfull World Fair that has been on the European continent. Maybe the most wonderfull and interesting world fair ever on the face of the earth.

The well known                program                                                     did find the way to Niel
in 2002 to make a  report about  the ,                                                 as they could put it so nicely,
one of the most remarkable                                                                collections with more
than  10.000 pieces on the Expo 58,                                                    the Brussels World Fair
. They filmed  in my own Exporoom                                                        but we also visited the large nostalgic and special designed molecule structure of the  expo 58 , the ATOMIUM.
Down here some pictures from the program taken on action and with a certain nolstalgia.
