Experts Group
What is the
Experts Group?:
The
Experts Group was founded in January 2001 to join together experts who are
truly interested in helping GeoCities web users and who enjoy working and helping
other folks. We recognized a need to
develop some control over who is recognized as an expert since Yahoo! GeoCities
does not adequately monitor the actions of people who have registered as
experts or control who can be considered a “Yahoo Expert”. Nor can GeoCities properly respond to all
the requests for information, complaints, or feedback forms submitted by the
millions of users who have accounts.
While we can’t change GeoCities, we can help the user understand how it
works.
Quality Feedback
and Responses:
The
Experts Group is pledged to provide quality feedback and responses to
users. This site acts as a
consolidation point where users may find information on experts who have proven themselves worthy
of being members and lookup answers to questions commonly asked by other
users. Experts sponsored here are professionals
who take the time to fully research your problems and provide answers which
will be as complete as possible. You may be comfortable in the knowledge that
the answers they provide you are the best, most current available. They will provide every assistance possible
to help you get your site up and running as quickly as possible.
Selective:
Note that
all experts listed here are members of the Experts Group and become members by
invitation only. Experts who fail to
live up to the charter detailed in the Experts
Guidelines will be removed. Other
experts (not invited) may submit an application for consideration to be added
to the group.
To be considered
for membership in the Experts Group, send an email to mailto:[email protected] and
provide the following information:
Your full name
Your nick name (site id)
Your email address (preferably a Yahoo email address) where we can contact you
Your Yahoo web site
Your background, including number of people helped, feedback, etc.
Your area of expertise
Each application
will be considered on its own merit.
People with a history of providing responses contrary to Yahoo!
GeoCities guidelines (Terms of Service) will not be considered for membership.
Identifying
Experts Group Members:
You can
identify members of the Experts Group by the logo on their site: “Member of Experts Group”. This logo will be a link to this site from
which you can verify their status. If
they are not listed on this site, they are not a member. Be aware that GeoCities also has a
logo which “experts” may put on their sites which basically states “I am a
Yahoo Expert”. They are not necessarily
members of this group.
