The science during the Modernist Era was perceivd as the door toward a better life. The ideology that everything has a scientific reason was conceived by most of the people. The explanation to this condition was that many people was able to assist to schools and finally pursuit knowledge in their lives. During the Modernist Era many scientific aspects were developed for example: The descovery of steel as an element of construction led to its use in the construction of skycrapers, the new applications of electricity and engineer were used to construct subways, the wars during the era generated the development of new weapons and the construction of new machines like the helicopter and the airplane, an English shoolmaster developed the postulate that the atom was conceived as being a tiny billard ball, and materials of the same atoms were elements, materials combining different elements were compounds.
The most important scientific theory developed was the one created by Charles Darwin "The Theory of Evolution" This theory explains how different circumstances influence in the creation of new types of species. He stated this theory after a travel in a voyage on the Beagle, where he had the opportunity to observe great varieties of different kind of species, some of which did not exist in England. All the date recorded from this expedition help him to produce the theory. Essentially the information explained how each of the surviving species had made succesful adaptations to their environments. This occured through a process of natural selection in which those individuals having the characteristics needed for survival, passes those characteristics to the next generations, while the unnecessary characteristics were deleted. Basically all the present genetic sciences are based on this theory. With the analysis of the genes of different species we can obtain information about how evolutions have been occurring through the time. The theory had a great impact in the society because it just contradicted the belief tha the church has been teaching through centuries.

Science had a great impact in this era, the pursuit for more answers led to more questions. many of the theories exposed were going against religious beliefs, for example the theory of evolution. Technology was also another important factor in the era The development of new weapons of massive destruction generated big catastrophes. The bombs used in World War I and World War II contaminated the blood of many people creating mutations; babies were being born with many physical and mental problems. Most of the people received all this changes in science and technology by questioning if all this deaths, problems, and discoveries were really helping the society in the pursuit for a better life.
