After an experiment of his father's went wrong, Calvin gained the power to mimic other people's natural abilities, or in the case of mutants, their powers. The brother hood of Evil mutants recruited Mimic, but in the end, Mimic changed sides to the X-men. After a rocky start, Mimic got along well with the team, becoming their leader.
