The following is a short history that was used for the Cities of Blood game. It only covers the time period from about ten years before the game started up until the end of the game itself. (For information on the time between Cities of Blood and Cities of Blood II, see the Cities of Blood II section of this site.) I will get as close to the dates that things occurred, however with apologies to readers and the players I forgot to actually write down dates with my notes.
Also for players and future players of my games (Cities of Blood II in particular) this is not everything that occurred, only portions that the general supernatural would have access to. More than that may ruin some of the surprises in store.

The story of the Twin Cities' Supernatural disappearance seems to actually stem back to an attack on the city in 1987. In that year it appears that an unholy alliance occurred between the vampire sect called the Sabbat, and something the werewolves call the Wyrm. (More specifically a tribe called the Black Spiral Dancers.) This war wiped out most of the supernatural in the area including the then Prince, Steven Black.
When this occurred, Vanya Mintovich stepped in as the new Prince of the area. He had been well known for being able to bring the different supernatural races together without blood shed. Along with the werewolf Prometheus, and Vanya's business partner (A rumored were-tiger) Negatraz, Vanya gathered the remaining loyal supernaturals in the area and drove out the Sabbat.
The Twin Cities were almost abandoned by every race. However in 1997, almost exactly ten years after the end of the war younger vampires began to move to the city feeling that they may be able to gain power there. Little did they know the amount that would eventually surface.
