| block out a new stage flat with four corners lacking foreground an empty grain just waiting for shapes pushing out negative space we begin here but this is not the film no shudder of time it is all at once an entirety of the eye absorbing then what of the point of entry if not at the top to the left & what exactly are we seeing as the edges lose their focus this is disconcerting as everyone enjoys their ability to walk into a room & say this is a glass this is a cat like this they have no individual weight but ordering & naming are comforting & helpful besides so we have it with words too sentences signifiers we all agree on as place-holders for their tangible cousins strung together by grammar synatax & such so it is possible to start at the start & by the end we know what happened we can hold it here there is nothing to hold as soon as it comes it goes & at the end we don't know what happened maybe this maybe that maybe there were trees maybe a cloned sheep maybe road-kill maybe there was a note on the door what comes after if there is no after just a suspension of place & the appearance or subtraction of slippery objects with no real familiar set up but a quick flashing |
