i got you*
chapter 1

Chelsea Summers had never been the outgoing type. That's why she was so confused the day Johnny Wright had hired her to be his new personal assistant. It had been her father's idea, so naturally, him being the persistent overbearing type, had persuaded somebody to get her in to talk to Johnny. She had been so nervous and quiet that day, she was surprised that Johnny hadn't laughed her out of his office. It was quite the opposite actually; he had loved her the second he had gotten her to speak up loud enough to be heard. And she had almost had a heart attack when he had told her when she would be able to start moving things into her office at the WEG house in Orlando.

Only now, that she was sitting at her desk; was it really sinking in. She was going to be handling all of Johnny Wrights' business affairs. Johnny Wright, the man behind such awesome performers. Like *NSYNC and Brittany Spears. It was a huge responsibility, and because of the way she had been raised, she felt she had to be perfect in every single way. She could feel the gray hairs beginning to form already, and she was only nineteen.

"Hey...uh...it's Chelsea right?" a voice called suddenly from her open doorway.

"Yeah...how can I..." she began, but her voice caught in her throat when she saw him standing there.

"Sorry to bother you," he blushed. "But the heater in the pool is off and I was wondering if you could call the pool guy and maybe have him turn it on."

"Umm... yes... I umm... yea..." Chelsea said, practically drooling all over her desk as she picked up the phone and frantically dialed the maintenance office. There, standing in front of her with only a pair of swim trunks on, was none other than Justin Timberlake himself. The person she had idolized for so long, and could only imagine meeting, up until this moment.

"First day?" He laughed, showing off his beautiful smile. As he watched her frantically trying to do what he had asked.

"Hey, I need the heater turned on in the pool," she said into the phone with a shaky voice once someone picked up on the other end, not being able to take her gaze off of Justin's beautiful form. "Thanks," she responded to the person on the other line and hung up. "Yeah...it-it's my first day," she said to Justin, thinking about how much of a dumb-ass she must have looked like to him.

"That's cool. Don't worry, if you're good, Johnny won't shoot you like he did to his last assistant," Justin laughed.

Chelsea didn't respond; she was too busy gawking at his perfect body like an idiot.

"Sorry, I'm probably making you more nervous huh?" Justin asked, a little embarrassed.

"Oh, no sir."

"Sir?" Justin laughed. "Please, just call me Justin...or J even."

"Ummm... sure Justin, sorry." Chelsea smiled.

"You've got a nice smile Chelsea," Justin said softly.

Chelsea practically fell off of her chair. "Uh..." she said stupidly.

Justin sucked in his breath. She was so shy, he actually was wondering why the hell Johnny had hired her to begin with. "Well, umm, I guess I'll be going. Thanks for the pool and stuff," he said quickly and walked away.

"Stupid!" Chelsea muttered, slapping her palm against her head.

Justin walked out of the office thinking about this new girl that Johnny hired. What was her name again? Oh right, Chelsea. He thought that she was pretty young to be in such a demanding position, but then again, he had been in this business ever since he could remember, so he really had no reason to be complaining. He chuckled softly, remembering the stupid haircut he had when he had performed professionally. He went outside where he now found JC sitting at the poolside, wrapped in a thick white robe, writing in his notebook and drinking hot tea.

"Hey man," Justin said as he walked over, and sat down at the edge of the pool, dangling his feet in the water. "Don't you know your hand's gonna fall off sooner or later if you don't take a break?" he laughed.

"Funny." JC mumbled, totally indulged in whatever he was writing. Not looking up to acknowledge his friend.

"Hey...have you met Johnny's new assistant yet?" Justin asked after a moment of gazing at the water.

"Who... that Chelsea chick?" JC asked, chuckling lightly. "Yeah I met her, right after she spilled coffee all over the place."

Justin laughed. "Oh man. Poor girl. On her first day!"

"It was on me more than it was on the floor," JC sighed.

Justin couldn't help but burst out laughing, picturing the look on both JC and Chelsea's faces in that moment.

"It burned. It spilled right on my crotch!" JC whined.

"Sorry man." Justin said in between fits of laughter. "Really I am."

"Yeah." JC said grouchily. "I'm sure you are."

Justin jumped in the pool, and after sputtering to the surface swam over to the edge and folded his arms up on it. "By the way, how's Amber?" "Good, she's real busy with school right now. But we've been trying to talk on the phone a lot," JC answered with a yawn and dropped his notebook on the pavement. He was tired of writing, at least until the next burst of inspiration came over him. "What about you, Mr. Trousersnake?"

"I still don't know where they came up with that damn name," Justin laughed. "Nothing new really, a few sluts here and there. But you know, nothing that really holds my interest. Brittany wanted to meet up a couple of nights ago, I said I would go... but then I blew her off."

"You know... I wish I could be as daring as you sometimes." JC laughed, shaking his head. "You know, fooling around with all those girls is only gonna get you in trouble."

"The only girls that end up in my bed is of age and on the pill," Justin flashed a smirk of satisfaction.

"Or so they say." JC shook his head and got up from the lounge chair he had been planted it, not forgetting to pick his notebook off the ground. "Anyway, speaking of women, my phone call to Amber is long overdue. So I'll catch you later. You going to Lance's party tonight?"

Justin pondered for a moment, trying to remember if he had made arrangements with any girl that was worth not blowing off. Amy? Nah, to skinny. Jaline? Nah, her butt was too big, even for his "junk in the trunk" loving self. As for the other various women he had met that week, none of them had been important enough for him to even remember their names. "Yeah JC, I don't have any other plans."

"Cool. I'll call you later." JC waved, and walked back towards the house. Justin slipped off the edge of the pool and dunked himself underneath the water. Beginning his daily ten laps around the pool, before he heading into the studio to work on Justified; which was set to be released in two months. Hoping that tonight he would find some beautiful girl, that would be able to satisfy his "needs."

He still didn't know why they called him 'Trousersnake'.

~*~*~*~

"So, how's it going baby?" JC asked as he casually played out a random melody on the grand piano.

"Oh you know, same old, straight A's," Amber laughed. She was in her dorm room by the window, sitting down at an easel, working on the finally details of her painting. "I should mess up this art project I've been working on," she giggled. "I'd probably give my professor a heart attack."

"You know you can't do that. You're the straight A student with a 4.0 average," he smiled. "If you did that, I think you would be giving yourself a heart attack."

She laughed, "Oh well, I tried."

"So, what else is going on?" he asked.

"I have a ton of stuff to do for school," she huffed looking over at her desk. "I have a huge paper to write for English. I have this art project I'm working on, and all the while I still need to make time to study my lines for the Spring Musical."

"Don't sweat it babe, I'm sure you'll be able to handle it," JC said with reassurance.

"I know I can handle it Josh." Amber laughed. "I just wished I could make it a little less strenuous, and I wish you could be here with me," she said sadly. JC shook his head and sighed. He hated when they got into this conversation. It was bad enough that they were apart all the time, but it made it that much worse when the subject was brought into their phone conversations. "Amber, you know that I can't do that."

Amber went to college in Georgia. No, she wasn't very far, but with her school work and his career, there just wasn't anytime to really see each other.

"I know, but this really sucks baby. We haven't seen each other in almost a year." Amber replied sadly.

"I know that...we've just been so damn busy. Just hang on a little bit longer Amb, things will get better. I promise you. Give it time. Besides, you know you can call me whenever you need to," JC smiled.

"You're right I guess," she huffed. "But anyway, onto a lighter subject. How was Chelsea's first day?"

"Oh," JC groaned, "Just great."

"Uh-oh," Amber laughed. "Why do I sense that you aren't too thrilled with her?"

"Well for starters she spilled coffee all over me this morning. Including the you know where."

Amber started to laugh hysterically, "Wow...sorry Josh."

"Ha Ha," he said sarcastically.

"Would you lighten up?" Amber chuckled. "She's not that bad."

"I don't know Amber, this girl just doesn't seem like she's going to work out. I understand that she's your friend and all. It's just that she's so quiet. Diffiently not the type to be working in this kind of business. I don't know why Johnny even hired her in the first place."

"Joshua Scott, Johnny Wright is one of the most successful men in the music business. I'm sure he wouldn't have hired her for such a demanding position if he didn't think she was good enough for it. Give her a few days. She'll open up soon. I've known her for awhile. She's just shy, I'm sure she'll work out fine in the end. She spilled coffee on you once it's not the end of the world, even if you are a pop-star," she laughed.

"All right, alright," he sighed. "It's not my call anyway."

"How's J doing?" she asked.

"He's good. Horny as ever, and screwing every woman he sees of course. But he's good... you know J." JC laughed.

"Why am I not surprised?" Amber looked over at her clock on the wall. "Anyway, I better get going; I have class soon. But I'll call you tonight Josh, ok?" Amber said, in a reluctant tone.

"Okay, I love you," he said sadly.

"I love you too sweetie."

"Bye," they said together.

Josh hung up, and closed his eyes letting out a long sigh. He really did miss her, and it did hurt not seeing each other even over a year. The last time he had seen her was at the Grammy's last year, and that really couldn't even count as quality time. The group had been so busy answering questions and taking pictures on the red carpet, that it seemed he had barely had time to ask how she was before the night was over. Yeah, they got to sit together holding hands, made small talk, but they had to go present an award also, so that mostly took time too. But he did love her; there was no doubt in his mind about that. At times he felt that she could possibly be the one he could love forever. He just wished they had the time to work on it.

"One year is too long," he said out loud pounding his fists down on the keys making a loud and bad note.
