beyond the boundaries*
chapter 01
When you're famous there are a lot of risks to be taken. Sacrifice many cherished things in your life, like family, friends, privacy, and your safety.
Amanda Jones walked into the large building escaping the sunlight from outside. Joined by other agents of the academy. She saw her older sister Eve, and headed towards her.
"Hey Jo, what's new for today?" Amanda asked
"Hey, nothin' much just like what we did last week. Then were also going over some defense training." Eve said
"Alright."
"Where were you?"
"I woke up late, and then I had to stop by the gas station cause I forgot to fill my car up last night."
"Oh...you always do everything at the last minute."
"Do not."
"Do t-" Eve was interruped by someone.
"Hello my girls, what are you two arguing about now?" Their father, Edward Jones said
"Hi daddy, nothing." They both said, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"How are you two?"
"Good."
"When we're finished with the targets I need to talk to you two. Meet me in my office when your finished. Okay?"
"Okay."
"Thanks girls...love you." He said giving them both kisses on the cheek. Then walking away.
As soon as he left the two sisters pointed to each other.
"Your the one in trouble." Amanda said.
"Am not, you are." Eve said
"I didn't do anything."
"Me either."
Amanda shrugged.
A tall black man walked into the room with their father beside him.
"Okay everyone listen up!...Go into the room and get all your gear on and load up." Agent John Murphy said.
Amanda put her arm around Eve's shoulder.
"Come on sis, let's go fire some weapons." She said. They walked into the room following everyone else.
Amanada and Eve were sisters as well as best friends. They've been close ever since they were little. They counted on each other. They both have been in the agency for a little more than 5 years. But they practially grew up there. Their father was one of the head officers of the agency. He was one who fired and hired. He was proud that both of his daughters were apart of the team.
"Agent Jones." Ageny Murphy said. Amanda turned around and took her headphones off.
"Yes?"
"Your done."
"Okay."
"Eve go with your sister."
"Okay." Eve said. She took her headphones off and went with Amanda to their father's office.
Eve knocked on the door.
"Come in." Edward said
The two walked into the office. Amanda closed the door behind her.
"Take a seat girls." He said. They sat in the chairs in front of his desk.
"Alright...I'll just get to the point. I just got a called yesterday to assign 3 agents to go undercover...and I want to pick you two, and Agent Cooper will also go. Why did I pick you two? Well because you two work together very well and we need that in this case. I want to ask both of you if you're ok with this first?"
"I am." Amanda said
"Me too."
"Okay...well do you know that group *NSYNC?" He asked
"Yeah." They laughed.
"Ok, what's so funny?"
"Nothing, go ahead." Eve said
"Well thier manager Johnny Wright called me yesterday telling me that they have been getting threat letters. Not the guys themselves but their manager and the record label and others are getting threats about the guys. He wants us to find this stalker and bring in you two, but he doesn't want the guys to know, he doesn't want to scare them and it could distract them from thier work. You with me so far?"
"Yeah."
"But dad...why doesn't he want the guys to know? If they know they could be more cautious of their actions?" Amanda asked
"I can agree with you there. He just doesn't want to worry them too much."
"Okay."
"But, at a point if the stalker ends up sending the guys threats, they'll know obviously, and that's why both of you will be undercover as security guards for their crew. So they'll expect you two to keep them safe and protect them. You ok with that?"
"Yes."
But Amanda I want you to get really close to them, not too close like Eve did last time, just to a point where they want to be your friend and they feel comfortable with you, got it?"
"Yes."
"You two will need undercover names, Eve you will be Marcie Hart and Amanda you will be Amanda Miller." He handed them thier ID cards.
"When do we start?" Eve asked
"Next week..."
"Dang! For how long?" Amanda asked
"As long as it takes to find this maniac."
"Ok."
"And one last thing...Agent Cooper will be helping you like I said. He'll also be a security guard but not as close, he's on the outside sort of. But if you need him he's there....Well you two can go home now and begin packing. I'll call Johnny and tell him."
"Alright."
"Thank you girls...I'll talk to you later."
"Your welcome. Bye." They said leaving.
They went outside to the parking lot and got in their cars and went home. They both lived together in a apartment. Their father didn't live too far away, but far enough. They were both 'daddy's girls'.
The five guys sat in their manager's office listening to him talk for the last 45 minutes.
"Ok you guys seem to be zoning me out so I'll let you leave."
Smiles came across their faces.
"But before you leave. I got to tell you that we will be adding new security. Just about 3 people. We're doing this because of that fan insident last month. So we need to be safe." Johnny said, not telling the real reason why, and that he's having the FBI involved now.
"Okay." They all said
"Alright. Well I'm finished you can leave."
All the guys hurried out of the room.
Amanda, Eve, Brad Cooper sat in the back of the cab together, Agent Murphy sat in the front. Agent Murphy was like their boss, along with thier father and other head officers. During this case, he'd be the one they report to.
"You guys nervous?" Agent Murphy asked them.
"Not really." Amanda said
"Me either." Eve and Brad said
The cab stopped in front of the hotel. The 4 people stepped out of the cab. Looking up at the place, it was really nice. One of those 5 star hotels.
"Damn. They get treated pretty well...no wonder someone's stalking them." Amanda said
Eve, Brad, and Murphy laughed.
They grabbed thier belonging out of the trunk and went inside the hotel.
In the lobby, Johnny Wright and the president of Jive Records Rick Carter (I made his name up) were waiting. Agent Murphy walked up to them. Amanda, Eve, and Brad followed behind.
"Hello I'm agent John Murphy." He introduced himself.
"Hi I'm Johnny Wright, NSYNC's manager and this is Rick Carter, president of Jive Records." Johnny said
They all shook hands.
"These are the 3 agents you asked for...Agent Brad Cooper and Agents Eve and Amanda Jones." Murphy said
"It's nice to meet you all...you two sisters?" Rick asked Eve and Amanda as he shook their hands.
"Yes sir." Eve said
They all shook hands with Johnny Wright.
"I gotta say you two are attractive young ladies, you do know you're-"
"-Not supposed to get involved with clients, yes." Amanda smiled.
"Yes we understand the rules...but ya know sometimes my little sis can't help herself with the guys." Eve wrapped her arm around Amanda's shoulder.
"Shut up Eve!" Amanda said "She's kidding."
"Enough picking on Junior Eve." Murphy said "Well since they are going to be undercover they will have different names, two of them, for their safety."
"Okay." Johnny said
"Eve will be Marcie Hart and Amanda will be Amanda Miller. Brad will keep his name. He's not going to be so close as they will."
"We'll remember that."
"Well girls and Brad. I'll be leaving I'm coming back next weekend. See you then." He said "It was nice meeting you two." He said to Johnny and Rick. He said goodbye and walked away.
"I'm gonna go up to the room." Brad said
"Okay." Amanda and Eve said
"See you later, bye."
"Bye."
All of a sudden there was as loud noise of screaming. 3 guys came running inside from the screaming.
They walked up to Johnny.
"Hey man what's up?" Justin said
"And who are these two beautiful ladies?" Joey asked
Johnny laughed "This is Marcie Hart and Amanda Miller, 2 of the 3 of your new security members."
"Nice to meet you. I know I'll be safe in your arms." Joey said to Marcie. She looked over at Amanda and they laughed.
"Joey behave...Marcie, Amanda you've met Joey, this is Justin and Chris." Johnny introduced the guys.
"Isn't there 5 guys in the group?" Amanda asked
"Yeah, the other two took a different ride." Justin said
"Oh. Well it was nice meeting you guys. We got to go." Amanda said
"You too bye." They said
Amanda and Marcie walked to the elevator and got in. Going up to their assigned room.
9:30pm (later that night)
Amanda went down to the bar to check the place out and to be alone. She sat at the bar, watching the re-run of a basketball game.
Josh walked into the bar. It was pretty much empty, not a lot of people. He looked over at the bar and saw a woman of his age sitting there alone. He walked over to her.
"May I sit with you?" He asked
She looked up seeing the most gorgeous guy. His blue eyes stood out so much, they were beautiful.
She smiled "Sure."
He took a seat "Hi I'm Josh."
"Hi I'm Amanda." She shook his hand
"Who's winning?"
"Oh Lakers won. It's a re-run of the game played earlier today."
"Oh, so Amanda what are you doing her in this hotel bar all alone?"
She laughed lightly "Just to come relax, get away from everything."
"Oh did you want to be alone?"
"No it's ok, I need the company."
"Okay."
"And Josh, what are you here for?"
"I'm actually here with my bandmates."
"Oh yeah, you're in that group *NSYNC. I didn't reconize you."
"Yeah."
"I met Joey, Justin and Chris earlier. I'm working on your crew for the new security for you guys."
"Oh really? Johnny told us about that, that we'll be getting new people on the crew, it's always fun to get new people so we can pick on them."
"Oh great."
"Don't worry I'll protect you." He grinned.
She smiled.
"I'm kind of surprised that they had a woman for security. No offense to you though."
"None taken. So yeah..."
"Well welcome."
"Thank you." She smiled
"You have a beautiful smile." He said
She blushed "Ok change the subject. Where are you from?"
"I was born in Washington, D.C. I live in Florida with some friends now."
"Where in Florida?"
"Orlando, and where do you live?"
"I live here in California. San Diego."
"Oh that's nice."
The two sat in the bar talking about anything and everything for at least another hour.
Amanda looked at her watch.
"Well it's getting late, my friend is probably wondering where I've wandered off to."
"Yeah, me too. I'll walk you up tp your room."
"Oh you really don't have to." She said standing up. They walked out of the bar.
"It's alright, I insist." He said placing his hand at the small of her back leading her to the elevators.
"What floor?" He asked
"13." She said
"Really. Same as me."
"Cool."
The elevator made a ring. They were on floor 13. They exited and walked down the hall.
"This is my room." Amanda said
"Right next to mine and Justin's I think." He said
"Cool...Well thank you for walking me to my room and the talk this evening. It was nice. Your a good guy Josh."
He smiled. She about melted. "Thank you. Your a sweetheart. It was really nice getting to know you. Hope we can do it again."
"Yes we should."
"...Well goodnight Amanda."
"Goodnight Josh." She opened her room door and walked in and closed the door. She smiled. On the other side of the door Josh was also smiling. There was something about her, he just had to get to know her better, he wanted to.
"Where have you been Junior?" Eve asked
"Went down to the bar, met one of the other guys, Josh. He's a nice guy."
"I bet, why do you keep smiling? You got a crush?" Eve teased her.
"No! Of course not...I'm gonna go to bed." Amanda said avoiding the subject.
"Ok...but...Amanda's got a crush, Amanda's got a crush."
"Eve...Shut up!" Amanda said putting the covers over her head.
