Interface Improvements
Features Index
Here are a few of the interface improvements Age of Mythology will feature:
Making and managing groups is a lot easier than in previous Age games:
the 10 unit groups will be represented by 10 tabs on the top of the screen,
easily accessible by either mouse or keyboard.
The player can now set a rally point to a group of units instead of a point
on the map. Created units will join the group no matter where they are on the map.
The number of units selectable at one time [in Age of Kings limited to 40 and
in Age of Empires 25] will be greater than before.
The number of idle villagers and idle military units will be displayed on a
tab in the top right hand corner of the screen, with a number indicating how
many idle villagers/military units the player has. Clicking on the tab will
cycle through these units.
Age of Mythology will allow the queuing of technologies.
AoM has attack-move, a feature which AoK lacked. Attack-move can be
accessed both by an interface button and a hotkey.
The minimap rotates when you rotate the camera in order to help you keep your
bearings, no matter what.
Units obscured by buildings or trees will glow, to help you spot them.
This is probably more effective than an easy to miss unit outline, such as
that in Age of Kings.
