Chapter 9

"So what you want, is a guy who's not J, but is, but better?" Lori asked Addie. We had rushed over to Addie's house after she called us. Turns out she had J had a MAJOR row and now she needs to find a boyfriend.

"Exactly. He needs to be just like J, but not." Addie repeated. Just like J, but not? Interesting.

"What do you mean?" I asked her trying to get her to clarify herself.

"Well he needs to be just as good looking as J, but better. He needs to be smarter than J, make more money than J, be nicer than J, you get the picture. But he needs to be like J."

"dang girl you got it bad." Lori bluntly stated. "Why don't the two of you just kiss and make up like you always used to do? You can obviously tell how much you like him." Addie looked like she was ready to burst.

"I KNOW I like him. That's why I'm going through all this trouble to get him back. If I didn't like him, would I care so much that he went out with airhead number 1 Grace? Would I try so hard to get him back? No, I don't think so." But they're both too proud and stupid to admit they're wrong and makeup, I thought. It was very obvious.

As Addie and Lori began discussing who they could find I thought of my own predicament with Scott. I know I want him back, I'm just going to make him wait a little bit. Make him sweat it out for leaving me for so long. I then joined the conversation on who we could find for Addie.

"How about...wait no, he's married." Lori thought aloud. "Um, what about...nope he's in prison. Ge...nope he's in France."

"How about Jeff?" I suggested. That was the last person I knew Addie went out with before J. A grin grew across Addie's face.

"Perfect! So what is good old Jeff up to these days?"

"Well Addie, sorry to burst your bubble, but he's gay." Lori told her. "So that rules him out. What about that guy from Westlife who used to stalk you? I think he would be even better. J, would be JEALOUS beyond belief. Can't you just see it, you show up with one of his old rivals?"

We all pictured it. It would be beautiful. If that didn't work than nothing would. We began talking about the different scenarios and how much fun it was going to be.

Kelly and I sat at our flat talking. "So when do you think we should tell them?" she asked me.

"I don't know. It's up to you. Whatever you want." I told her. Kelly stared at the wall.

"I just don't know how they're all going to take it. Abs is very protective of me. I guess it dates back to when, well I don't know, but you know how protective he is." I pointed out to Kelly that we are adults. "True, true."

We sat there some more neither saying a thing. "Maybe we should tell them to try and get J and Addie back together?" I suggested. Kelly shook her head.

"I don't know how much this will motivate them to get back together. It might actually discourage them."

"True, true." Again silence. "Let's think about this later. How about we see if we can find a game of rugby?" I asked Kelly. Kelly smiled at me and nodded her head. She was so great. We have this problem on our hands, yet she still let's me watch rugby.
