Emily Matthews, 30, spent her childhood in Lincoln Park, Chicago. She was an excellent student in school, and finished a year earlier than her peers. She decided to go to MSU to pursue a degree in museum studies, and her parents decided to move to East Lansing with her. After completing her studies in the spring of 1998, , MSU hired her as a curator for the Kresge Art Museum.
During her studies, she met a professor in the Anthropology department by the name of Joseph Sumpter, and they became close friends. After her graduation, they began dating and were engaged a year later. Her father died June 21, 2001 (a short while after the first trip to Draughtonville), leaving her the sole inheritor of a large estate. (Her mother had died a short time before him.) Emily prides herself on her reasoning. She hates to deal with stupidity, as most people do. She doesn't care much about what other people think, and worries more about her own code of ethics. She tends to hide her feelings behind a cloak of sarcasm, and will not often let people know how she's feeling. |
